I have never had a problem with a nvidia card until now, games run fine but when i play daoc i get lock ups always in the same areas,it slows down completely like 1fps,you can't move or type then you are booted out with a message in the lines of:

Device failure please save your work and restart your pc

Something like that, anyway my average temperature for the card is 60-70c maybe because it's very hot in england at the moment 30-35c.Does anyone know what's causing this?could it be the game not fully supporting the card at this time?could it be the card's temperature?or could it even be the driver?

If anyone knows or has any ideas please reply here, also seems as if the card can't draw a certain texture/object or it doesn't recognise it which is very odd for one of the best gfx cards out.

Help:(

My card (Radeon 9700PRO) is bout the same temperature atm... if you are gaming in a room with a small/big window, then invest in a ventilator... it does help alot, circulates the air, makes it more comfortable... doesn't cost more then 5-7£ or so...

put the vent in the window, push the vent up to max, and wait like 10 mins, then the temp. in your room have fallen like 5 degrees...

sry for my english .. just got up

It's just the drivers are not 100% working with DAoC atm. When I have all shadows set to full detail I get lock ups crossing the bridge in Dewey and near the Ellyl camps in Pennine Mountains, probably more but I haven't found them yet. ANyway I knocked the shadows down to original game ones and even with allt he other setting on full blast, water looks so cool, I have had no problems since.

When it's really hot in my living room, the card has been upto about 55 - 60 degrees going by the advanced properties with no noticable problems. Of course though the core slowdown set point is set at 140 degrees C according to the driver so I assume that the card can run at quite high temps.

What I have done is removed the side of my case since the amibient temp has been quite a bit higher than usual this last week or so. The machine runs a lot cooler now (not that there was a problem at it's hottest last week mind but the CPU fan's speed was really high ingame and I don't want it to wear out too early as the's P4 heatsink and fans look a pain in the arse to fit :D)

I had very similar probs running SI with a geforce Go 5200.

I discovered if i dropped the hardware acceleration slider down 1 notch, it now runs SI fine.

Hope this helps.

Yeah tried that still didn't work :/ not gone to the areas since re-installing the drivers and not installing the windows update because i heard that ruins it since it installs a geforce 4 driver.
