ok so for all them who say isdn isnt truly broadband apologies in advane but ididnt know where else to put it :)
today BT came round to replace my isdn box."oh" says the man"you're still using an internal terminal adaptor, why have one of these usb things it'l be much faster".
"ok" says i "bung it on".
well first i connect to bw q2 dm server, cos i know i get 45-55 ping on there .err whats this?100 ping?? so i try a couple of others, same thing.so i unplug the usb cable and switch back to my trusty asus TA. guess what?45 ping once more!
i've often wondered why ppl have 100 pings with isdn, and maybe now i know.
good ol' BT still without a fucking clue :)

Which at the bottem (in an after thought sort of way) says don't use the USB cable use a TA if you want a good ping.

so on to my qustion whats better PCI or Serial also where from and how much.

TIA

In my glory days playing Quake II on Barrysworld, I regularly managed to get pings of 15-20 to an empty server, and often entered the server with a ping of 22-25, that's using a BW dial-up too.

No idea what it would be now, my connection passes through a "server" PC via the LAN and Quake II has passed away long ago from my disk.

Give me an IP address and I'll try it tonight if you want, you've got six days to reply because I get ADSL next Monday :)

TBH I doubt there is much difference, apart from bragging rights that is.
