When I try plugging any usb device on, my computer simply refuses to detect it. I've tested several different devices, so its not about them. Also tried all 6 USB ports, all the same. The ports are enabled in BIOS. Downloaded all windows update fixes, updated mobo USB drivers and pretty much everything possible.. No luck :|
Found this article about USB detection issues on XP and it looks pretty much like my problem: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q314634
I tried following the instructions there but the key "HKEY_LOCAL_Machine\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Usb" doesn't exist \o/, found a bunch of other keys starting with "usb*" and tried adding that value into all of them. Even made a new key named "Usb" and added it there... doesn't work :|
