Many people have asked us why we revised the “new server” survey. Earlier, we tried to communicate the reasons in the poll text itself (feedback, email, the previous poll, requests for clarification), but it might be enlightening for you to see the results of the first poll:
21% - I do not wish to answer the poll
21% - A server type that eliminates the ability for players to travel to Trials of Atlantis (to eliminate artifacts, master levels, and master level abilities)
5% - A server type that provides a range restriction or timer on all buffs that are currently concentration buffs.
1% - A server type that limits the amount of experience a player can earn every 24 hours (to promote casual play)
28% - A server type that allows realm invaders to enter opposing realm's home zones (the "home invasion" server).
23% - I am happy with the currently available server types and would not restart on any of these servers.
As you can see, no one answer really jumped out, and people who didn’t want to take the poll/were happy with the current options made up close to half of the responses. In addition, we had plenty of feedback on the original survey, and we reflect that feedback in the revised edition. The new poll, as you know, has a “no new rulesets” option, combines the TOA/buffbot choices (and the combination replaces the experience limit option), and provides more data so that participants can make a more informed choice. We also mirrored the poll here on the Camelot Herald to measure the difference between active customers and retired customers, although we know the results from the Herald poll won’t be scientific.
We are still gathering the results of the latest poll, and we’ll let you know the results – either here on the Herald, or with an announcement of the new server type. Thanks for participating in our survey!
