Urs Meier, the disgraceful referee from last night's game has his own web page, WITH A FEEDBACK FORM. If, like me, you are not too impressed by his performance last night feel free to leave him a little message <grins>Here it is translated to english for those of you that don't speak german and Here it is in german for those that do

Enjoy

Edit: I've just noticed he has this, "Entrepreneur with own specialist shop for household devices", as his occupation. Now I don't know about you but when i read 'specialist shop' certain thoughts go through my mind, when it is then followed by 'household devices' i get slightly worried.

I must say, in all fairness the portugese deserved to win as they outplayed us, but the referee really did bottle it, there is no way someone should be refereeing important international matched unless they can keep their cool and impartiality.

The Portuguese outplayed us completely, but the point is that we should be in the semi-final right now. The ref fucked us over for the home nation.

The decision of the ref was questionable. In England, no ref would have made that decision. Under international standards, the decision was ok. Still tough, but ok.
I understand that you are pissed. But even if that goal would have counted, it doesn´t mean that England would have won. Nobody knows what would have happened. I´m sure that England has won an equal ammount of games due to questionably ref decisions. Remember that the ref in Englands qualification match against Greece was *very* pro-England for example. :)
Also, take a look at Holland. They were given a penalty for Edgar Davids inability to walk without falling over and the second goal was offside.
In all honesty and with all sympathy for english football, you had it in your own hands. Beckham missing the goal by 10 meters... I mean, wtf? One bad call from a ref is never an excuse for losing a game imo.

true the portugese did out play us. for a 120 minute game we played about 15 minutes of football.

When will managers learn that sitting back, defending deep and playing long balls to short strikers does not work

When a match is played at this lvl and with so much lying on it why they dont have a fourth offical (like rugby?) up in box with access to TV playback's which give a clearer picture, is beyond me... the only person Sol had "pushed" in the box was Terry.......... :(

Exactly. Plus the linesman gave the goal, and he was in a better position to see what was going on than the ref. The ref was too far away to have a clear view of what was going on, he should have went with the linesman's initial decision that it was in fact a goal. It all points to the fact that we were playing the home nation, happened to Italy in the world cup aswell.

No, the site has been on b3ta and such sites, and as far as we can work out, is exceeding its bandwidth limit.
