My computer is starting to suffer. I need a new processor/motherboard. I want an AMD duron 800, the athlon is out of my price range.

I also need a new Motherboard but i don't know jack about them. All i want is something that will support an AMD duron, has 1 AGP slot and supports sdram (2 dimm sockets minimum).

Is there anything that matches this and how much.

Thanks for your help.

DO NOT BUY ANY AMD MOTHERBOARDS FOR ANOTHER MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1) KT133A chipset is out now
2) mobo's using it will be available within the next month
3) Makes include the Abit KT7A and the Asus A7V133
4) the KT133A chipset can run a 133MHz FSB, the KT133 chipset tops @ about 110MHz on the FSB side of things
5) Overclocking: 7.5x133MHz or 10x100? Nuff said
6) the KT133A chipset is nearly as quick as AMD's own DDR platform if used @ 133MHz. Cheap and quick, nuff said again
7) Can't think what I was gonna write, but just WAIT!

Thanks :D

can someone explain to me this RAID technology, is it worth getting an Abit RAID version or shall I save me cash?

In the simplist of terms so even bodhi could get the idea:

2 HD's (identical is best)

RAID0: Stiping - 2 HD's, both are written to at the same time and both are read from at the same time, thus theoretically doubling performance. The only thing is, cuz files are split 50/50, if one drive loses it's data, you can't recover the data using the drive that still works fine.

RAID1: Mirroring - 2 HD's and one is an exact mirror of the other. Good for servers I spose or backup conscious people.

I think http://www.hardwarecentral.com have some good info on raid details and setups.

ok i sort of get the idea. I don't care to much for backing up as i don't have anything on my comp that is vital :). just games that i can reinstall.

The word that caught my eye then was doubling performance. I might have to look further into it. Thanks people.
