Updating my motherbaord

I have NO idea what version or anything. Is there a programme which i can DL to tell me which motherbaord i have. I'm sure its a SiS one. All help is appreciated <3

Go to control panel, then system then device manager and voila it should say it there tbh else go open it up and the model number of it should be on board and then google it 4tw

Also i've tried cpu-z-139 programme. No luck!

It might say on the board itself. Also I remeber you used to be able to get the serial number off the first screen and trace it back to manufacturer, it might even tell you something about the motherboard from the pre boot/first screen.

I've got the driver, downloaded it. Where do i extract it to? C:/Windows/system32?

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers I _think_ - I've never had to do a motherboard update; should work. I know there are websites out there which should do it.

Too bad it's not just a exe file

Need some help here! Other graphics card has packed in on me. Can't play any games with this graphics card because it's all graphics buggs (wtf?) its alot more recent.

Should just be a case of starting the installer & following the directions from there.

You don't realise that GFX cards require drivers? *Pats* Even adding in my last GFX card (FX5500) I had a driver disc..



Find the model of the card, go to the maunufatorer(sp) website and download the latest/generic drives from it.

It gets past bios screen, past windows loading screen then after that the screen is completly blank!

mate, it's 3 months on...its time to shoot either yourself or the computer. if you shoot yerself, you dont have to worry about a new one.

failing that, make friends with the nearest (geographically) nerd...it'll be yer safest bet.

It's cheap - It's nasty.

Will it run DAoC ? I've got my graphics card here, 6200 Gforce. Or i've got a PCI-E one in my cupboard.

If i bought this, what else would i need to buy? a 512stick of memory. Will memory come with it?

Or can i put my SDR back in? It doesn't seem to say what type of memory it will be, personally i reckon it wont be SDR because dont they make motherboards with that memory?

your getting 2x 512 ram on a mobo with 2dimm slots. Thats 1gig max Ram you can have with 512s in. Unless youput 2x 1gig
