Updated HL to 1107 - server says out-of-date. EH???

I've recently returned to online games (or at least I'm trying to), hence the old Tribes 1 tag and nick. Big hello to anyone who remembers me. :0)

Problem is, I can't get on a HL or TFC server for the life of me. I've update to 1.1.0.7, and when I use the online updater Sierra.com says I've got the latest version. However, no matter what server I try to log on to, I get a "half life executable is out of date" message.

Anyone had this problem and know what could be causing it?

I was never able to successfully update T2, and I used to get the odd problem with Tribes updates that thought there was something wrong with my existing exe, so is this a general Sierra problem?

Run HL and in the bottom right corner it should say what you got (dont trust sierra update)...if its 1.1.0.7 well what can I say

Never able to succesfully update tribes 2? HAHAHAH u @r3 n0 13370r h@X0r.

Anyway, try uninstalling it and starting again.

Dont use the auto-updater get the full 1107 patch from here:

ps. tribes 2 is easy as well.

Install the game. DO NOT RUN IT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

First get the auto-updater patch from.

then run the game and let it get the patches it wants. sorted.

Cheers for the replies, m'dears. I've done just about everything possible to get T2 to update - gone through the usual hoops of fire with no joy. The install checker goes loopy when it gets to ISPAWN.EXE and I have to ctr-alt-del the damn thing. Gave up on that one a long time ago. Probably a duff CD - can't be bothered with the total numpties at the so-called "support" desk, so it'll join my other high-tech drinks coasters.

I'll try re-installing HL and getting the patch from the URL you supplied - thx.

As for T2, I'll have another bash at Tribes 1. Had my first game in over a year last night, and it was an absolute gas. When I get ADSL on Wednesday.... muahahaha!
