Whats the word on the update. Any good for a CS lifer? I played TFC for the second time in my life and gave up at 1 kill for 20 deaths, so is Opera any better (make that more fun).

Yo TT, I played Opera once, didn't like it... it's similar to AHL but not quite as good (as far as i'm concerned...)

Opera just makes me feel ill when I do a roll or anything like that.

If you want a change from CS, TipTop, have you tried Day of Defeat?

I played it for a while, and it is good fun. Coming from CS I was able to play to an acceptable standard quite quickly, mostly a matter of learning new maps and recoil patterns. It has some good weapons which really make a difference from CS without going too far towards the rocketlauncher stuff in TFC.

Anyway sorry for hijacking an Opera thread, I know nothing about that at all :)

The server seems to be updated, but using the old opera.ini file, which defines many of the settings (such as dive distance, amount of concussion etc) seems to be the 1b one.

I'm just wondering if this is intentional, as there are a..... how shall I say, select few, that are being a bit vocal over on the opera forums about how the 'spirit' of the game has been ruined by the lack of ridiculous levels of dizzyness from being headbutted in the crotch by a low flying human missle.

The newer /opera/opera.ini file should be included with any of the full opera downloads (there isnt a patch) if you want to update it, though if you want to play with 1b settings thats fine, its just some of us consider it the equivilent of playing any other game with low gravity, good for a laugh, but not the original intention.

[edited to remove incorrect info]

I'll speak with our Opera liaison and will discuss the issue of opera.ini with him.

Jase.
