Unslamable unmezable middy opponents.

Ok could any *oracles* out there tell me why even though we hit with slam and mezzes land that Some middys seem to be invunerable.. do they have a sos equivalent?

it would be the only explanation for this matter tbh.

and afaik you don't have access to Slam in the Battlegrounds.. could it be you mean stun? ;f

Yes i mean stun.. So if thats the only explanation maybe there cheating ;o Because i have definatly stunned on several occasions for it to do nothing at all.. :/

I actually had the same problem with a paladin last week, whenever my savage did the backstun on him it would only seem to last half a second at most. My Friendly Local Shaman rooted him with a ~45 second root and it lasted about 10 seconds.

I didn't think much of it at the time, just attributed it to lag. I still attribute it to some sort of bug, TBH.

Interesting that someone else has seen this happening, though.

The point your all missing is that the was no effect at all. wether it was half a second or 3 minutes.. yet the stun and mez still landed..

Ya, now this is BG, homeland of the messers spamming mess for no reson and stunners spamming stun without chargeing. Being immune most of the time in BG is no surprise :)

imo just someone landed aoe mezz and some stupid wizzy landed his uber aoe damage that does 50 damage on main person and 20 damage on all other who are in radius 4tehwin! leaves you with a free mezz immunite timer :clap:

enjoy it while it lasts - its not uncommon in RvR to be hit with a AoE mezz, then Stunned, then Slammed, then Paralyzed, then... i dunno... the music stops and we all pretend to be statues, until the enemy stomp our arses...

Immunity means feck all when theres that many effects being lobbed at you, sadly, and with Purge on a 30 minute recast timer, in solo or duo situations, you dont stand much chance if they get the jump on you with some of the uber-slambots out there recently.. :(

well determination only costs 1 point.... but that doesnt affect melee stun so the only thing i can think of is the fact that most melee stuns in thid last about 2 seconds, and with lag or whatever it might only seem like 1/2 second, or immunity timers :)

If u get stunned by a cast able stun u cant be stunned by a melee stun can u? Ull be immune then.

You can't be stunned, slammed and paralysed, they're all the same effect (and yes immunity does work).

I was under the impression that -

If you are stunned, you could then be restunned, but the new stun would cancel out the old one and only last for half the duration. Immunity only comes into play if the stun timer runs out at any point.

No, the half duration thing is PvE only. If you are stunned in RvR you are stunned for the duration and then totally immune for 1 minute.

hmph... me's all kinds of gimped then... i have had occaison where i've been unable to do ANYTHING for a good 3 or 4 minutes, until someone decides to kill me...

<rubs hands together> one more RP to get Det III...

Im kinda hoping my Det III will improve my survivability, but i run solo a lot, if not, usually only dueting with a paladin, so limited chants and whatever RA's we can muster between us.

Purge is next to useless anyway, unless you happen upon a brave/stupid Skald, Healer, Bard or some solo caster type :great:

purge/charge4tehWin!! (no matter how rarely it works)

Det 4 and buffed resists mainly (usually 16-25% body buff) and of course capped resists on my armour. Also keeping an eye out for incoming mids and trying to split the group up a bit helps. Unless you get hit with the mez directly you'll not get a full duration mez. I don't tend to lead so I'm not usually mezzed directly. :)

Normally use purge for melee stuns, not worth using it on magicals - longest magic stun on me is around 2 seconds.
