Unreal Tourney, low spec machines, and frame rates

I have a really shite machine (K5 166, 32MB, Voodoo Banshee) and Unreal Tourney makes me drool all over the floor. But how will it work on my system? I don't mind frame rates of around 10, it's more than I'm used to!
As long as it's playable.

10fps
playable
LOL

lucky for u, u have a 3dfx card as the UNR engine is blisteringly fast under glide. UT feels ok on my V1 yet q3 is total shit even with gfx turned rite down.

Sorry mate, its time to upgrade your cpu and m/board

I have P2-300 and V2, I get 40-60fps. You want your *minimum* fps to be around 25-30. i.e. several players in a room bouncing rocks and grenades will slow your system to a crawl. Sod the max fps, you need to cope with worst case.

once u get used to hi fps, anything under 40fps feels pretty unplayable...

lo ppl.
yeah listen to this, if u whack up your monitors refresh rate, it makes it soo smooth
i have a tnt2 running UT @ 1024x768 in 32 bit colour with high textures, 3 bots, mad fight, etc etc, and get an average of 44 fps, put the refresh rate up to 90 hz, and its soo much smoother, makes 20 fps like 40 fps.
try it
