Nope. UT2k4 is just UT2k3 with bolt-ons, which was just UT with shinier graphics.

And I got bored of UT aaaaages ago.

If they start releasing yearly versions people will start to loose intrest fast because of incompatilibility across games on the internet.

I'll probably get it.

Maybe I'll play UT2K3 once before I do.

UT sucks, they cant balance the guns properly, which is why UT2k3 has died on its arse.

I think the move to vehicles / bases is more to justify the "franchise" idea, its a lot easier to introduce new vehicles and stuff every year than it is to revamp just a plain old FPS game.

For example, you could quite easily envisage a Tribes 2004, 2005 etc.

More of the same with bells on.
Being a follower of UT and owning all the other versions, I can definatley say that I won't be getting this hackney'd "been done before" version.
There's always something better around the next corner, and I'm hoping it'll come with HL2.......TF!

Well, I probably will buy it, just to buck the trend :)

Why? Well, I never bought UT2k3 thats why, and me new video card seems far keener to play D3D games than OpenGL, so you never know.
Or I may just buy UT2k3 somewhere instead :)

New multi-player oriented combat game type on custom-built large-scale maps featuring awesome new weapons and land- and air-based vehicles. From the lethal bomber to the nefarious spider mines – you will work as teams to control map points and win the conflict

I like the sound of being able to use vehicles though...

Ive never seen any cheats on bf m8 .
I was on the community game last week, but there was about 10 people in total, and none of the regulars, unless they was aliasing I suppose.

The new Onslaught mode (one with vehicles and team-base-linkage) was a very fun "bolt-on" at ECTS, even with a loud bossy American developer/programmer(?) as teammate :)

They should have just concentrated on UT04 instead of releasing UT03... at least Onslaught brings something new to the game. Still not worth buying if you already own UT03, of course.

Hang on, sure this isn't Halo?

It looks similar to Halo but I personally think Onslaught is more fun because it's easier to get hold of a vehicle/plane, the aim being a team based effot of linking up bases across a map.
