Undocumented Commands

There are are commands not in the manual or DAOC website that I thought maybe useful to newbies.

I asked those helpful people at DOAC for a list of these commands and this is what I got back (within an hour and a half!)

Hello,

That's good question, and we are planning to publish a new FAQ with all the commands available in game. Here are the ones I remember
right now :

- /played (returns the total time spend on the character)

- /time (returns the time in game)

- /loc (returns the coordinates of your character in the region)

- /keyboard (returns your current keyboard configuration)

- /filter (bad word filter)

....

European Dark Age of Camelot Customer Support

I didn't know about the filter command!

Indeed it is the '-' key

A lot of key commands are on the reverse side of the map sheet, along with slash commands.

Yep before you take a screen shot press the TAB key this will remove all the control pannle to create a clear screen. Once done press TAB again and everything will pop back into place.

Also by pressing Ctrl and holding it down you can move with the mouse. Once realesed the mouse cursor will reapear again allowing normal movement.

Also /effects:none/self/all will toggle the level of spell graphics on screen, very handy for those huge lag sessions called RvR.

There are a little button called 'M' which will toggle mouse-look on and off, I prefer this really ;) (at least I think 'M' is the default, have changed a lot of the buttons and am not at home so...)

Shift-C gives you a compass, and Shift-P gives you perfomance meter. Not sure if they're in the manual.

and if you hold down tilde (or the button under escape .. if tilde isnt located there.. pretty much like console =)) and move the mouse you can look behind you and all around .. without turning, good for peeking thru mfgs =)

how to remove people from you "friends" list:

To remove people from your friends list just type in /friend [name of character inserted here] and voìla, "friend" removed :D (had a couple of name on my list that I knew had quit the game or deleted the chars.. )

Actually didn't notice this little trick before I got to level 38 with a couple of alts 1x and x level :)

If you start a new guild, u need to set some things for the guild master. THe guild master has guild rank 0.

/gc edit 0 invite y

this command makes it posible for the guild master to invite members. I think they forgot the "y" (y for yes)in the manual. If you write "n" instead he will not be able to invite.

The "y" or "n" goes for all the guild edit commands, they are listed on the map that goes with the CD.

Is there a command to auto target the creature a group member is targetting?

Yes, /assist
You can set up a macro like:

/macro assist /assist <group member>

which can go on your quickbar, or you can select a group member and do a simple /assist

Those 14 days are IN-GAME. Meaing you have actually PLayed the game for 336 hours. Or 20.160 minutes.

This is when the scariness sets in :D

shift-n will switch off everyone's names (and switch on again if you press it again)

very handy for taking screenshots..

as for the ` key (top left key on the english keyboard... not sure what key it's mapped to in other language keyboards) you can to use your look left/right keys to rotate around and your move forward/back key to zoom in and out (look up and down works as normal)

im at 22 days, and 18 days on my first main

anyways, F11 toggles camera mode.

3rd person (default)
steady cam (cam stands still, while you run around. arcade-ish mode, hilarious)
in-eyes.

use in-eyes, shift-n, and effects self if you want lag reduced in RvR :)

You dont need the <group member> bit.. if you just have /assist with a target you will switch to the target of your target

Though your target slection info sometimes takes a while to update, doing a /face afterwards will face you towards the new target though.

Like I said:

Ok, so I didn't explain it that well, but I did mention you can do it that way as well. :)
