Under Siege!

Like many in Midgard I often rush to the defence of relic only to arrive after the Albs are all dead so I logged one of my alts to sit in the relic keep so that I could switch to see the fun.

Yesterday Morning a horde of Albs invaded Yggdra and attacked the keep - for those who havent been in a keep (particularly relic keep!) during an attack the atmosphere is really tense - Battering Rams poke thru the door while weary defenders attack the Rams and a constant stream of names appear in the rolls of the dead!

I started out checking the outer door - could see Rams (3 I think) poking thru but the door held a surprisingly long time - I just managed to get back into the Inner keep seconds before Outer door gave way and a stream of Albs poured in - phew!

Inside the few (about 7) defenders were all hands to the pumps destroying Rams and raining down death on the enemy!

Eventually when the Inner door was down about 40 percent the Midgard Cavalry arrived and wiped out those pesky Albs

My thanks to all involved (even the Albs!!) - it was a truely fun experience - I urge everyone to get involved in a Keep defence - great fun!

I was particularly impressed by the ordered defenders Solid , Metal, Sinister and all - Well done guys

The aftermath was scary tho, so many strewn bodies outside the keep, mostly albs, amazing what a few relic guards and few mids can do, I was scared shitless when i saw approx 80-100 albs amass down hill at the crossroads.

Yer was a fun defence, the agony of doing 4 wood runs to jord afterwards and spending my 1.5plat on wood was horrible tho, dont wanna do that again

I wanna give a shout to guys helping with Relic Door repairs, they are unsung heros and deserve a props too, namely:

Sinister
Droder
Dozigden
Lightning
Aveh
Poisano
Lomaxx
Hufner
Hardbein
and a few more whis names escape me at this time.

We all spent a good few hours trying to get money and wood for door repairs, lets hope we get a more united Middie front for post skirmish activities next time.

Door Repair Fund?

We really could do with some kind of central fund for keep door repairs - It seems unfair if the same people keep shelling out for something that benefits the whole realm

If anyone has any ideas about setting this up I'd love to hear them?

Heh - next time I'll make a list of defenders and thanks to the healer who ressed me (sorry - cant remember your name!).

And Rynnor - I think I spotted you rushing inside the inner keep. I tried to pull my crossbow out to take a couple of potshots at you, but keep forgetting to bring bloody bolts along with me.

I think the next patch will help the cash situation but as to being shot by an Alb crossbow

Well I for one hit a orange mob for between 70 to 250, depends on if I get a crit or not.

Against a troll wearing chain I hit for about 180ish

Well, being an infil this is an ability rather than a trainable skill, and I dont do alot of damage with it, no.... BUT at keep defense it has quite a nice range and can be used to try to interrupt casters who might get a bit of a sting. It also helped a little while ago after I managed to knock one of your SB's off our wall, while someone else finished him off.... the healer couldn't get close enough to rez him for being turned into a pin-cushion

Does anybody know if the new Nightshade shouts uncover the caster when used?

Still waiting for a big theory on this from Azal but ..

We gonna break those doors until all Mids are down to 1g per head. And it will cost us even less after 1.48. Death at your relic keep cost us nothing.

And we are still waiting for them in our frontiers as some are very proud to claim they can do this whenever they want.
I just recall for your pleasure that a single guild, and no, not a 150 members guild, 3 groups, at prime time, went to your third door and broke it till 40%.

Keep this in mind before yelling or crying.

Whismerill old chap Cant quite see how the patch will help you bankrupt us when it gets a lot cheaper to fix the doors after a raid??

Is the cost of Rams coming down also perhaps?

If it really was only 3 groups Kudos to you - you have inspired me to try this with only 3 groups soon in Alb

For the record Inner door was on 60 percent but still a very good attempt!

erm wtf do bolts get a damage type liek thrust? very odd.

They have a magic damage type, eg Heat/Cold/Energy dont they etc???

Do they also get a Physical damage modifier like Thrust/Slash/Crush? that seems a bit odd, my Hammer dont get a Magic modifier, why would a bolt get a physical modifier???
