Lo all

Well ive certainly never seen a definitive answer, just lots of different excuses for different games. Id quite like to know if its 'EM policy' or just 1 or 2 players?

Just one thing...does it matter Cuba?
I don't see people in the Quake leagues going around asking clans "why don't you record demos dammit!?"
Sorry if that sounds harsh, but i am just curious.

lukily for us we have the pleasure of having to use telecom eireans fine network which provides an excellant service at all times - yea right
smile.gif

as far as i know most of the lads are opposed to the press scheme cause of the extra observer - our pings are bollixed already with 18 on - no need to add to the troubles...

personnaly i dont see the problem of the admins taking a demo, but hey - how could anyone think of such an insane off the wall solution

but as for suggesting we dont take demos just so our tactics wont be revealed: would ya ever wake up, its a game, a complicated, competitive game - but still a game. We're in it for the laugh not so we can build up a massive hord of secret mad-bastid tactics to use against those foolish enuf to challinge our all-conquering might (*cough* dont mention br *cough*)

One spectator doesnt eat much bandwidth, especially as u arent ever sent updates about a spectators position as a player.
Please let press into your games, its comes off a bit lame not too. I might even petition Poker to make it a rule that one press dude is allowed in. He'd prolly ignore me tho :E

I just think that all other matches can be seen by the public except EM ones which is a bit lame, as we all like to see a good match no matter which tribe it is
smile.gif

just feel the leauge is let down a bit by non participation

It's also wrong to compair the tribes community with the quake one, as quake has not got a good press system in place like tribes has.

Yes i know they got some sort but i beleve the demos of the matches encourages growth and further development for newer tribes as well as a good show 4 the more experienced ones

P.S the tactics bit was to encourage responses

Well, if you so much oppose to an extra player, record a fps demo and let people watch it, not as good I know but some people will still be interested to watch it.

Also, you can pass it onto people like Suds/Zitco who can write fantasic reports based on one persons view of the game.

He's had a few of my demos, and written great reports from them, I don't care if he sees my turret placement or my favourites, it's no different to anyone elses.

Right - can I have that cheque now pls Suds :E

in other games it has been little or no problem to get ones hands on players pov demos, from those who do them. They give the best insight into games.

I enjoyed the the Tribes Radio yesterday, and hope it continues for those games allowing press access.

I would strongly dissaggree with "in rules forced press demos/reporting/radio".

No other gaming leagues afaik has ever had this, (correct me if i am wrong), and it should not be compulsary.

i look forward to reviewing the BL demos i was given of last nights game, pity i got none from DS, but as mentioned not everyone records demos..

i personally have no problems demos in the public domain. They reveal feck all about your tactics, every tribes tactics are generally the same, you may think you have somthing special and find everyone in christendom is doing it and has been for a while. Its just paranoia to hold onto them.

The UKTL admins are constantly seeking ways to make the game more accessible. The [press] scheme in its current form has been rather more controversial in its trial stages than was originally hoped and will be reviewed after the season (comments welcome as always).

The suggestion that dedicated [press] coverage be written into the rules is something which will be considered seriously along with other ideas like a single archive for demos with standard naming conventions, or the UKTL-radio idea which seemed to be well received last night.

Anyone else want default and clear skins (all red/blue etc)? Last I heard ppl were asking for custom skins for each tribe (with camo potentials I assume).

Both are possible from an admin viewpoint with the new mod.
