UKCL - MM, Borg's attitude, and QW dying?

HSC were scheduled to play MM in the ukcl last week, but unfortunately HSC were going to a lan in wales. We informed Bigfoot of this, on the Thursday 1 day after the supposed deadline for postponements. This was unavoidable as I'd being trying to arrange a team with no luck up until thursday night.

Bigfoot says it's up to MM whether they want to take a default of play us at a later date. MM btw were top of the league, undefeated.

I went and was very polite about the whole situation, but MM decided to be utter T.wats and wanted to take a default, one of MM-Borg's comments being:

Revenge for u beating us in the MCW this week, and bottom of the league too, jees.

What a t.wat. Totally uncalled for, and just highlights what a complete arse he is. Oh I also learned he's an admin too, great state of affairs to have an admin controlling a league with an attitude like that.

SO he's took a default, gave me loadsa shit and I just want to know where all the f.ucking nice clans have gone recently. MM thanks to MM-Borg are now complete and utter (i'll use ur language Borg) 'f.uckwits'. Yes such a lovely clan are MM...

So there u have it, MM could have just said yer we'll play u next saturday/sunday instead, but no they f.ucked us around and showed complete lack of sportmanship and nice qualities.

If other games dont kill off qw, then pple like MM-Borg and his attitude to the leagues will.

I would have thought that with all these defaults due to clans folding etc then all the remaining clans would accomodate each others requests, ie. they actually want to play a game.

As for Borg's attitude and him being an admin, well, the two seem mutually exclusive to me.

The Quake scene is looking rather bleak at the moment, we could do without this kind of thing.

You then came to our IRC channel asking for a rematch and certain players, myself included, had a bit of a laugh saying we would take a default. I thought it was apparent that we were larking about, for example: -

Now I have given a HUGE amount of my time to admin clans like HSC, I am also incredibly passionate about Quake and this remark was NOT on. I wasn’t going to take it and any thought of allowing a reschedule was totally destroyed, my reply was (perhaps over harsh in the language department but warranted at the time) :-

I, very understandably, was enraged. That me, and my clan, were being accused of causing the demise of Quakeworld was totally abhorrent to me. As allot of people know I am a long serving admin in the MCW and also helped allot in the UKCL seasons past and I was not gonna take a comment like that. Admins don’t get paid, they don’t expect it . . . but some recognition that they help to keep Quakeworld alive is the least they can expect from players.

Has it ever occurred that people make plans for the weekend, and that I had broken plans to take my wife to see some relatives just for this league match? Of course it hadn’t because you are simply unable to see beyond your little corner of the world. Well take a look, stare in awe at the world that can organise their lives. Be amazed by clans that actually know what they are doing in advance. Don’t you see that dissorganised clans are one of the main reasons that the leagues are dying, the good will of people willing to admin is the single reason that you have leagues to play in.

Oh, and didn’t you also reschedule our MCW match??? Another thing, you were on IRC at game time but didn’t even bother going to the server. This left poor old HSC.Grego on his own wondering what was going on, great way to treat your clan members isn’t it?

You want to get personal fine, you want to hold a bad opinion of MM then fine. The people that matter, i.e. the people I respect online and off, know me and my clan. They know what we stand for. Your opinions matter not a jot as your comments, and those of your clan mate Facey, show total contempt for people who admin and the whole league structure as a whole. In fact, why do you bother if you think all Admins have a bad attitude, as Facey so kindly points out :-

As I see it you got totally the wrong end of the stick in IRC then made a comment that revealed you to be a most unpleasant individual.

I would suggest that if you have any further issues with what I have to say you speak to me in person, you know where to find me.

Jace, having seen the whole of the chat log and heard your side it becomes apparant that Nige didn't realise you were joking but that's hardly his fault. Irc isnt the best method of communicating humour, and besides where something like this is concerned then it's a bit too important to be larking about esp if you are an admin.

And Im fully aware what responsibilties admins (as Ive 'been there, done that' too) have so dont lay that on us. Being a bit more professional and not exploding would have avoided all this, as would have answering Nige's request without pissing about.

I was unaware of this wednesday deadline, but that's no excuse, but what I was aware of was contacting the admin/league organiser in plenty of time so that a reschedule could be arranged. I thought Thursday was NOT too late, and tbh what ever plans u or your clan had made you would have a had 2 days to reorganise. FFS we're talking about a 30 minute match not a whole afternoon or nething. You said "decided to take wife to see some relatives" , so u thought a 30 min match makes you say no you're not going to see relatives!? Well neway that's your affair but I'd put my family/wife before QW, ALWAYS, but u are u and as I said that's your affair

Maybe you should have grasped that from my replies to your comments, or maybe you were too wound up in inventing another witty comment, whatever, you were in the wrong and then you take a tantrum when i respond to your insults?

Im not all that biased anyway due to the following:

a ) I wouldn't be able to make the game due to working away in London anyway
b ) I've not played Quake for a few weeks now due to spending most of my free time (weekends only) playing other games
c ) Quite frankly couldnt give a monkey's chuff about Quake at the mo (but that may change)
d ) Im not so far up my own arse like some people I could mention

Oh and i have even less sympathy for your situation when nige(horny) told me the other nite he wasn't aware of the UKCL/MCW mailing list which if he even bothered to read the rules he would know exists.

It doesn't surprise me that Nige/HSC have taken this route (mail bombing jace, spamming on here) i would have expected better from a more experienced member of the UKCL or MCW but i guess being newbies i should expect such behaviour from your clan. It's not the first time that it's happened this season, every single time the slightest thing happens to HSC ,which you usually disagree with due to not understanding the situation cos you haven't bothered to read the rules, i get abuse from some1 in the clan.

At the end of the day its more hassle having HSC in the league(s) than it should be atm. Make of that what u will.

Oh nice Chief Admin skillz Bif, we have a slight misunderstanding that results in handbags and in charges Bif to fan the flames. Before you reply with how wonderful you are by being admin and putting in time, yeah (great development of rules, etc) all the credit you want but things like this you handle with very little diplomacy.
I'd be VERY surprised if Horn or Face could even be arsed enough to mail bomb someone and from past experience are not that sort. From the style of your post you're ready to what kick HSC?

If you bothered to read my post u will see that i explain why i said what i did.

Ive spent in all prolly over 2hrs in the past few nites getting hassled off horny about something which imo was over as soon as jace said no to playing the gane.

As for the IRC thing, we did excatly wot we did in the past that day (It's happened a cppl of times). GB offers to play the game that's his choice, i would have had no quibbles with him not doing so.

As for u Jak, it would be nice to see you post something about QW that isn't about me

. I understand u must miss playing QW lots n stuff, but if i recall you have "No intention of going back" to QW and considering you don't even participate in the UKCL you are a bit unqualified to talk about league matters

Miss playing, erm nope, I enjoyed playing a brilliant game but that’s done now.

Well you really know how to stir things up Bif, you must be running out of material for your column. Since before you joined our clan I've had respect for you and defended you countless times (albeit irc and emails only - no website updates).

Don't get me wrong though, I do appreciate the time and effort, you just suffer from 'Brainfarts'.

fu.ckin fed up of it tbh, but i suppose if the admins have got it in for us, nowt much will change ever, until the admins change. Had the same shite with loc. Other clans are alwas given the benefit over us, and you wonder why we are so pissed at the admins. And as for us always being nasty to admins, only on the few occasions when the admins have show bias to the other side, and i do say FEW, have we been pissed off. and cos we get pissed off, they show bias to the other clan in the future, and so the vicious circle(big foot i think hes called) continues. we will always be hated/abused by the admin, purely because they so regularly piss us off. As for RJ, everytime ive spoken to him hes seemed like a top bloke, i appreciate the admining he does for the league, as i do for ALL admins who go out of their way. I just feel that sometimes, as they gain no real benefit from admining, they throw their weight around a little too much. I suggest if they have any problems with us they should log and prove what it is weve done, to say that we regularly 'fuck off' the admins is tottaly harsh.

Just a quick reply to anyone that is currently slagging of MM-Borg or the clan MM.
To start with Nige, can't you take a joke? Usually when you see a

at the end of a line it means that it is meant to be a joke. Like for example "Nige you are a twat

". Now by that I am saying you are a twat but because I have put a

at the end I mean it as a joke. Just like if you type in caps "NIGE YOU ARE A TWAT

" Now on this occasion I am shouting the fact that you are a twat but again I have put a

at the end so it means I am having a laugh. If you can't understand how IRC works and what the diffent little pictures and icons mean then you may want to go to a begginers Guide to IRC.
Now for the next section, MM-Borg is an Admin most of the peeps in the quake community know that. Without admins like Borg and Bigfoot we wouldn't have a league system to play under and if we did I am sure it wouldn't be a fair one.

As for MM taking the default, you left us little choice really after you insulted our clan leader then our clan and then promptly left IRC. With comments like "Here Puss Puss Puss" chasing after you.

I am sure that everyone who has seen the irc log will see that Borg was having a laugh then you started slaggin him off (Must admit the comment about "it is clans like you" really made me laugh. I am sorry to say that it is clans like us that keep the divisions alive and clans like yours that will lead to its downfull. So I hope you have fun at the bottom of the div m8 and the next time we meet I am sure we will accept the default again.
