UK2NET ... Very Amateurish.

I recently had the misfortune to order a Zyxel Prestige 100WH ISDN Router from UK2NET. My experience was less than beneficial.

First of all, the order forms were unsecure, which means external parties could have access to sensitive credit card data in transport through their service.

I received a response from them saying my order would be dispatched. It included the delivery address and the list of items I ordered and the amount which would be debited.

That was the last I heard. After 7 days I decided to contact them by responding to their "receipt". All I received was an automated FAQ response. So I submitted their web-based contact form ... no reply. They do not have any telephones or contact address. Very amateurish.

Two days ago I re-visited the website. Their ISDN Router page has been transferred to a third party. A company called SEG Communications. Without communication this has happend. I do not know what happend to my original order form or the credit card details it contained. I received communication from a Michael Spalter of SEG Communications who was very unhelpful. He would not supply the products I originally ordered from UK2NET for the same price. The price difference was £10 more expensive. On principle I refuse to pay this extra. I was dealing with UK2NET not with SEG Communications. Why should I pay more?!?

Well, the result is this ... as they refused my order at the original price they lost a customer and gained some unhelpful promotion for themselves and UK2NET.

Beware when dealing with UK2NET for anything but domain names.

With thanks

I think we should get them on here to explain themselves. I'm going to find it hard to trust them after what I've just heard. In such a competitive industry they can't afford to treat ppl this way.

But to be fair we need to hear what they have to say. Perhaps someone should tell them about this post?

But if you contacted them by email ... they never respond ... so wouldn't it be a bit of a waste of effort?

No telephones, no contact address ... not good...

There might be light at the end of the tunnel though. I can register .co.uk domains myself and I might be able to do a deal with an ISDN TA/Router main supplier to beat them at their own game
