Yes, its a real pain in the arse isent it .....
ive made a few posts about it but got ne real replies
the BW list doesent come up empty for me anymore . . . . it simply crashes gamespy with a "out of memory Error" !
The wireplay list isent 2 bad, it contains BW, Deamon, Wp etc and can be found at
"wp17.wireplay.net:27950"
the UKCCL list is at
"http://www.ukccl.net/ukcclq3.txt"
but only lists ukccl servers .....
id also sugest seting up some smartspy lists (u are using the full registered version of gs ?) for ff, team, duel, q3f ect. this really cuts the wait down but still takes 2 long imho

me and friends are still playing quake 2 as we cant be assed updating all the servers for quake 3
quake 2's great as u can just update UKMaster which only takes 20 seconds or so and makes finding ur buddy a doddle
quake 3 - right click on Gamespy network, update, go have smoke, coffee, walk the dog and then maybe all the servers be updated
Ive tried adding this master server to gamespy - http://q3master.barrysworld.com
It updates ok but there aint no servers?
If anyone can help me find a master server that only lists UK servers would be greatly appreciated

I think the adderss for the BW master server is just q3master.barrysworld.com port 27950, You cant have an http at the start as the bw q3 master is a "propper" master server not a web page . Another problem might be the version of gamespy you use, when I last tried to update the master using gamespy 2.20 it appeared to get only 1 server with a 9999 ping (ie not existant), so I went back to 2.19 and it works fine for me. Hope this helps.
Another uk master I know of is q3fmaster.gamesinferno.com port 27950
which lists quake 3 fortress servers.

Rockhard id suggest downgrading to 2.19 if you have a copy or grab me(Eldritch)in irc and ill send you a copy, now to be honest what features does it lack that 2.20 has? None as far as im concerned, but then i only use gspy for q3 server browsing .
Try updating the master and going to the all serers tab and see if 1 server is listed like it was when I tried to use 2.20. You could also try another server browser such as pingtool or game explorer or whatever

ive reinstalled 2.19 gamespy and now all the recommended servers u guys posted above update ok!
heh, now more uk q3 servers to choose from than q2 servers
at last sunday eves be quake3in instead of q2in for a change
