No games bundled (which console ever did that on initial release?).

But:

Gosen will state that Nintendo expects more than 20 software titles to be available from launch day, which is the largest ever line-up of software ever for a console launch. By the summer there will be almost 50 titles available for Gamecube.

Getting better and better.
:)

Well Nintendo kept their promise then, they said the use of non customised chips in the gamecube should allow them to drop the system price & they've done just that, lets hope its a trend thats set to continue :D

As stu said, and I fully agree, it's not the best who win but the best marketed...Nintendo haven't exactly done themselves any favours over in Euro/UK in the last few years ;)

It will stuff Xbox yes. PS2 tho? Not a chance. I will prolly pick a GC up at some point, but it will be a diversion from all the PS2 goodness.

So that's Sony then. Glad you agree.

I think most people would agree that Sony have it in the bag sales wise by now (rather like the Ford Fiesta being UK's best selling car).

Anyway, glad to see that even you are willing to give GC are chance.:)

Actually yes.

PS1 stuffed Saturn through massive marketing, this continued with the PS2.

I find it difficult to buy a console, and not buy loads of games for it, I always seem to have more than console, which isn't good, at the mo I have a n64 & dreamcast, keeping my n64 cause of ISS, but just bought some final gems before it dies, namely marioparty3 and excite bike 64.

GameCube set for £150 May debut

Nintendo will launch its GameCube console at a price point of 249
Euros - approximately £150 - across Europe on May 3rd.

Nintendo plans to ship one million units of the system, which has
already sold circa 2.7 million units in the USA and Japan, for the
launch period in Europe. The launch will be supported by 20 software
titles on day one - the largest ever line up of software for a
platform launch, beating Microsoft's Xbox launch in March by two
titles.

Details of the launch are set to be revealed publicly by Nintendo
Europe managing director David Gosen in a pre-recorded web broadcast
at 9am GMT on Monday morning.

In his speech, Gosen claims that "GameCube will not be targeted at
kids, it will not be targeted at teens and it will not be targeting
adults; GameCube will appeal to anyone who enjoys being entertained by
interactive gaming."

Among the key points highlighted by Gosen in the speech is the
connectivity between GameCube and Game Boy Advance, which he describes
as a "true and unique Nintendo asset". "We have more than three
million Game Boy Advance owners across Europe who have taken the first
step towards GameCube ownership by buying Game Boy Advance", he
claims.

Among the launch titles on the platform will be first-party games
Luigi's Mansion and Wave Race Blue Storm, third party exclusive titles
Star Wars: Rogue Leader and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, and a variety of
non-exclusive games including FIFA: Road To The World Cup, Tony Hawks
Pro Skater 3, Batman, Crazy Taxi and Burnout.

I will not be in line for a Gamecube. I think i'll wait till someone makes a JPN/USA/Euro modded one. And I think my new Dreamcast (which still hasn't come yet  ) will keep me occupied for many months to come
