1h33 min. Its worth watching everything imo.

Haven't watched this yet, will soon.

But 2012, 23rd of december if i remember correctly, mayan time calculations end.

Probably nothing but maybe something :D

from 7:30~13:00: Debunked as a fata morgana of the oilfields. Same effect of the glimmers on a warm day over a hot road, but then against different layers of the atmosphere.

18:30~20:00: really nice bluescreen effects! That skeleton is too still for it to be a see-thru, and with that ball it starts out with... if you can see a residu from the sphere itself you'll also see a residu of his hand.

Couldn't really be bothered looking at that "He's telling the truth" presentation.

the mayans to be exact.

been reading on it for the past few years now. in december of that year its said that a massive cloud of what ever floats around in space* will completley block the sun. according to what theyve found of the mayan stuff anyway.

*im not an astronomer, so i dont know what exactly it is ;)

Repped!
If the Mayans were so good at predicting the future, why didn't they have loads of people waiting on the beach to stab up the Spanish?

ive heard this defence before. prediciting astronomical events and predicting something that man is going to do is slightly different imo.

whos to say they didnt know about it? ye they all died, but does it mean they didnt know it was going to happen?

They calculated it or w/e - beside they're indians, it has to count!

Just had to scan through the video :D

Watched the whole last part about crop circles because they look cool :p Also found this: http://www.circlemakers.org/new_documents.html

edit: scrolled down the page and saw one of the crop circles used in that UFO video there... Shame that people are so stupid that they believe such nonsence tbh. Why the hell should the rest of the video be true then? They obviously cant even do proper research, and if they did they would probably find explanations for the rest of the bs in that video :>

Every time I see these UFO guys I pity them for being so easy to fool with something totally untrue. But hey, everyone can do what they want imo, so if people wanna scream after some glowy weather balloons or think everyone dies in 2012, fine with me =)

I'm amazed that Joor of all people will spread the ideas of UFOs, seeing as the whole idea was stared by the US government in the 50's (or maby early 60s I can't quite remember when) to cover up their and the Russians interest in Saucer shapped aircraft. At the end of WW2 the Nazis (What "conspiracy" would be compleat without them? :p) designed and made at some test facility in Po9land saucer shaped aircraft, it is a good design for planes as the whole of the planes body works like a wing, and it can take of vertically, hover and is invisbible to radar. When the Russians captured Poland in 1945 they also captured the scientists and what remainded of the Nazi's aircraft. Them come the 50s and saucer shapped aircraft apeared over Alaska, this was at a time when the paranoia about communism taking over the world was at its height in America. So rather than spread panic that the communists were more advanced that the Americans, the CIA got an agent to start some organisation, claiming that they were alien craft, and then a member of the government publicly denyed that it was aliens, and all of a sudden people started believing the conspiracy, and no one thought about the commmunists. It is now a useful cover for anythign secret that the US government do, for example, when they started testing the F117 stealth bomber, people who saw it thought it was a UFO, untill one reporter managed to get some good photos of it, and showed it was an aircraft.

I'm sure that life, even inteligent life, does exist in other parts of the universe, the odds are jsut ridiculous for us to be alone, but also the size of the universe is stagering, it is stupid to assume that even much more advanced alien races have somehow found ways to bend the laws of physics so much as to travel accross the distances of space with ease. The only way to do it would be on "generation ships", huge spaceships, which are like planets, where whole generations of beings grow up, have children and die, before the ship reaches its destination.

Sort of OT to this topic but kinda related question:

Does anyone know of any experiments or facts which can show if it is physically possible to break the light-speed barrier or get close to it?

I know of Einsteins theory that its impossible to break the light barrier as we'd exist at some many places at the same time, but I was wondering if anyone knew of stuff to back this up. In my mind, in space where there is negligble resistance, its possible to accelerate to any speed you want but I think I read somewhere that something might happen to matter once it begins to go faster than light :)

There is theory that states that certain exotic matter can travel faster than the speed of light, but not slower than the speed of light, and that it can't be detected. Got to love theories like that.

There is theory that a wormhole could be created, and then one end moved such that it something moving through it could appear to travel faster than the speed of light, but would have moved through the wormhole slower than the speed of light.

There is a theory (backed up by observation) that radiation from a black hole (where light itself doesn't travel fast enough to escape) can escape in small quantities (light spontaneously turns from a light wave into two opposite particles that then collapse back into a wave. If at that point it is on the event horizon of the black hole, one can escape, and not collapse back).

To actually exceed light speed with an object (rather than essentially massless light), things get very tricky.

Wish I could remember enough science to go into the details.

And then ofcourse there's the space-time-continuum-bending-warpbubble making the voyager achieve Warp 9! :D

Serious though, Jeremiah, there are lots of different theories about the limits to faster-than-light travel. Some are just (pardon my french) brainfarts that sprout from the imagination of college students, however there are also plenty of variants going round in the science world.

If you want to read up a bit about the principle of relativity I can advice you to visit the library and search for

A Traveler's Guide to Spacetime
-An Introduction to the Special Theory of Relativity-
by: Thomas A. Moore
McGraw-Hill
ISBN: 0-07-043027-6
It's not an easy reading book like a novel but it's a student book that explains things in a way that makes it pretty easy to understand.

I've always been fascinated about how much the physics change when you encounter a zero-G enviroment so I might just take you up on that thanks :)

There is also a theory about traveling in another dimension (superstring theory says we live in about 17 or so, but they are very 'small' or something like that :>) and that if you travel along one of thoose dimensions the speed of light is faster compared to the speed of light in our 3-dim world. But technically that doesnt make you travel faster than light. Only faster than light in our 3-dim world if you can follow me :>

Actually light speed travel is a very interesting thing and the idea to bend the universe around you to "jump" over a hole is possible.....in theory. Fact is, that a lot of ideas can be realized in theory, but take too much energy in practice. That's also the problem of fast travel. If you go faster, you need a better engine and more "fuel", which means you become heavier, meaning you need a better engine....etc.

If I didn't suck so much in physics I'd actually read myself into it =)

The superstring theory is a load of hoohaa bull compared to...The Superthong "theory" where the backstring of a thong travels so far up the bumcrack that it is humanly impossible to see, with the naked eye, and needs several undressing manouvers to unhinge.

*puts down Icegoggles*

And this, is a proven fact.
