Lo peeps,

I have got a dvd drive on my pc and want to out put them to my widescreen tv.

What hardware TV output card should I use?

And

What is the quality going to be like?

Has anyone done this, I have a m8 who has output to the TV using his standard TV out on his GFX but he said the quality was cr*p.

Can anyone help,

Thanks

Your best bet is to get a new gfx card with a TV-out on it.

But I wouldn't bother with that. If I were you, I'd spend 80 - 100 quid on a budget DVD and save yourself a lot of configuration problems.

atm i use the tv-out port on my gf2 gts pro and the quality is quite good. However, in a couple of weeks i am going to buy this beast!. The card before it, which only did mpeg2, had an excellent reputation and as far as i can tell, the cards from these people are the daddy!

The quality is fine. You'll find that most tv-out's only go up to 800x600 although there are exceptions. But to be honest I don't see a difference between 640 and 800 on my telly.

I have watched DVD's through the TV out on my PC. I've also watched DivX, VCD, mpegs. The quality is fine as far as I'm concerned. Most certainly watchable.
