TV out

Hi

I wanna setup my rig so that I can watch DVD's through the TV. I have a 'TV out' socket on my Geforce 2 GTS Pro. However, never having attempted this kind of thing, I have some questions ....

What type of lead do I need? What's the best kind of setup?
Does it connect to the scart socket on the TV?
What about sound? I assume I need leads for the sound too.
Can you get leads that plug into both sound and gfx but end in one scart socket to the TV?
I have an SB Live, which I assume I can use to send the sound thru via the output sockets. I do have an SPDIF (sp?) digital audio out socket, would this be the best one to use?
Would I be better off buying a card specifically for this kind of function, or will the SBLive and GF2 do the job well enough?

Thanks in advance

Well the cable I used was an S-Video cable but I had problem with refresh rates due to forcing W2K to use higher rates.

I use a cable that i got from www.maplin.com ..I think.
It's a scart lead that comes out to an s-video cable and two phono connectors. Thing is SCART is a two way wire and s-video is one way. So I had to re-wire the bugger to get it working in the direction I needed. heh. Easiest way to do it is to buy an s-video cable, a sound cable (whichever suits your hi-fi/sound card connections) and a little scart adapter that has a switch on it saying "in" and "out". Then you're wired for good and can plug in lots of other stuff to ya telly like vid cams etc.

Thanks guys, I bought some s-video leads and it worked a treat :)

Can anyone recommend an MPEG card? I know that TV-out quality on cards like my GF2 aint the best and I'd prolly get better quality with a dedicated MPEG card.
Btw, I wrote one movie to VCD to see how if I could get it working. My DVD player played it, but the quality was dreadful! It appears to be much better to just watch via PC-->TV.

Think about this.............

Get a decent standalone DVD player! cheap these days, and you don't have the constant fan noise coming from your PC.

I have a standalone DVD player, but although it plays VCD's, the quality of em aint good ...... whereas straight to TV seems a lot better :)
