I'm going to be avoiding it like the plague. I used to like the books as a kid, but I realised just how preachy christian it was when I tried to re-read them as an adult!
C S Lewis was a member of an academic Christian group (imagine!) and he wanted to make the Christian message understandable and palatable to a young audience. I think the books are still enjoyable even if you ignore the Christian subtext, but then as a Christian I don't mind either way.
