Tunnelling

Reet.

My friend is at uni, and wants to play some games ( not FPS ), with some others of us. But he can't due to uni firewall.

So I want to leave some software running on my 2nd or 3d pc, ( one linux mandrake 9.2 and one XP pro ), so that he can connect over port 80 ( http tunnelling? ) and play with us :-]

What software will do this and how do I set it up?

Never had to do it myself so not sure if this FAQ would be any help. It's aimed from a cs point of view but I don't see why it shouldn't work for any game, if the zebedee software does it's job.

Seems to depend on whether they allow SSH outbound through the Firewall.

The trouble with gaming is that they often use UDP, and most tunneling software seems set up just for TCP.

Might be worth having a look at this page as well, again will depend on what game and whether the uni in question allows SOCKS.
