trying to 'create' a game?

i have quake3 installed on my pc on the minimum instalation. when i try to 'create' a game no one ever joins in?i can wait up to 30mins and nothing! is this because i have to have the full instalation or does it matter? if not is there anything i can do bout this?

Odds are its because your server address is not being registered with any master servers, and even if it is, people may be preferring to go to fuller servers on better conenctions.

Unless you've got a stupidly fast CD-rom, do a full install.
