This shows into season 2 right now, its based on a book series that has like 7+ books so it's got some good depth.

Basic plot overview: Gays come out of the closet , now Vampires have come out of the coffin.

Vampires unveil themselves and the plot is set in the "Vampire Rights" era, the main story focuses on a waitress who also happens to be telepathic.

I've been watching this too. Another noteworthy point is that it's full of tits n arse (rather a lot of shagging scenes with full on nudity).

Interesting, if a bit weird. I enjoyed it.

It's great, watched all of it in the last two weeks. Good acting, plot and it moves at a fast pace.

If you like any kind of vampire/ demon/ mystical Tv shows then this is for you. The characters are very quirky, and stay interesting all through season 1 into season 2.

Me and Samm are enjoying this very much at the moment. Not for the vampire stuff or Sookie but for the other characters (Jason, Terra, etc). I think some of the acting is god awful but gets better the further it goes on. I am surprised I continued watching after the first 30 seconds where we were treated with the first glimpse of the flick teeth on the vampires. Surely they could of got the fangs to come out a bit smoother than they did. Everytime a vamp shows his fangs I cringe, awful effects.

There is boobs aplenty though which makes up for the insta-fang scenes.

Not got around to True Blood yet. The Vampire genre is a bit crowded I find.

True Blood is the best though, no other vampire series has anything on it.

I personally thought Angel was the best at the whole vampire thing, i've yet to watch True Blood though waiting for it to come to Blu ray.

Tbh I liked the Eric/Godric stuff, but the Maryann storyline makes me want to drown myself in a bath tub of vomit it's so non-epic.

Maryann is ok, but I'm glad they spent more time on the Church of the Light group. It was a nice break away. Season 3 (well the later books anyway) means Eric gets a lot more coverage.

Well i thought that straight off, but in episode 2 or 3 the dog actually came up to the bar owner when he was sitting on the step outside the bar so they were next to each other so i presumed he wasn't a werewolf

It gets better but like I said its the other story lines that make the series good, I also like the gay chef who is uber tough I also like the ginger birds bloke, his accent ftw!

Can't take the cop serious after he was in the Wire though.

LOL Trem, taking Andy Belfouer seriously is a problem none of the other characters suffer from, so don't bother.
