Trouble with Windows live Messenger

Having reinstalled it, checked for firewall options to see if something is wrong, i dont know what to do.

Sometimes, when im in a conversation on Windows live messenger some of the messages i write doesn't seem to make it to the person i send it to. This happens 100% of the time if i send a file, i have to send it a second time for it to appear to the other person.

Suggestions?
