If when trying to patch the BF1942 demo you recivce the following error message "you must have the full version of the demo to update"
Then try the following:
start up regedit, and look up the regkey called:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942 Multiplayer Demo
It should contain some values. one of these values is the reason that the patch won't install. so look up the following:
ONLYSERVER REG_DWORD 0x00000001
doubleclick this value, and change the '1' to a '0'. what this means is that you deactivate the ONLYSERVER value, this value helps the game knowing if it's a dedicated server or a client.
