Trouble putting a skin on

Hi all i have downloaded a number of skins and i can not seem to get them on i no you make a custom file in toa/ui and stuff nut does not seem to work can anyone do me a step by step for Noob people like me

Copy the skin you have downloaded into the custom folder you've made.
Start Dark Age of Camelot, choose settings, under skin you select "custom skin" (or something)...Log in your character

X:\ToA\ui\custom\all files in here.
Then select Custom Skin from DAoC Options screen.
You can only select to load the skin from the custom folder, not a skin specifically, so afaik you can only have one custom skin in there. Else it might not work.
