Trojan warning from daoc chat log..

Was playing daoc then it suddenly shut down and i got this message..

C:\Shrouded Isles\chat_buffers.tmp
is infected with the Bat.QuickFormat.Trojan virus.
Access to the file was denied.

Has this happened to anyone else before? I scanned it with the cleaner and got nothing. I just deleted it in the end but how would this happen through daoc?

Not much on this from the AV vendors - just make sure your patched to the latest version of your prefered anti virus software. It could just be a false alert and the trigger for the virus was somehow incorperated into the log file.

Seams like Norton antivirus triggers an alert if it sees the text echo j | format c: so you may get an alert looking at this post.

AV software just scans for signatures within files - seams like this is a more common signature than others and will generate false alerts based on the text from my edited post above.
