Tribute!

Well its finally over. this is my tribute to what WAS the best game. Will share some of the good moments...

Will always remember
1. Roaming around in mularn for the first time using a voice chat with a dear friend of mine as I hear him scream.. gah A FIRE GIANT!!! HE IS REALLY PURPLE, HE IS HUGE AND HE IS COMING MY WAY!! IM GONNA HIDE BEHIND THIS STONE WALL.. he really got scared we where about lvl 6-8 or so..
2. Standing in Yggdra forest (undead camp) exping with a random group, suddenly I hear this funny music??? first time i experienced RvR!! was some alb group with a minstrel... Also standing in yggdra and suddenly people just drop dead next to you.. fear the old PA and instant death as it didnt bring the attacker out of stealth
3. Standing in varulvhamn killing countless nrs of varulvs in the bridge room (great hunter spot).
4. Dinging 50 as first member of Warriors of the Mist + our first Keeptake togheter.
5. The time in Svea Ulvar with lots of Renaris keep def! Also Svartur teaching me all the tricks of being a good hunter..
6. The day a twilight doombringer dropped.. that bow was UBER in the beginning...
7. The time I borrowed Lurikeen Invaders Legion sword and did about 1 bash on a keep door (yeah i realized it the second it hit the door), BOROMIR NOOOO!

There is so much more to tell here.. So many people I have got to know and play along side... its been a honour defending our realm. And some names offcaurse. Firstly Feg! our duos where the best time ever, we where so good people said we zerged 5+ , I also really enjoyed playing/talking to, Lenore, Ferengi, Takers, Hamfast, Dracus, Roweyn, Azorius(WoTM), and my bro Merrick, From my time in SU and Norrsken alliance Svartur, Oldluri, Oldbone, Barsk, Tirana and Trollum!!
And if anyone is looking for a nice cotttage PM me here on FH before the 7th dec (when my acc runs out) and i´ll gladly pass the house on to some nice fellow.. House is in Carlingford house 1915...

G'bye DAoC, i've got to say the great moments was when you first started, killing for money, wearing what you can, exploring with your friends and finding guilds, exploring dungeons.
But the arrogant and intrusive behaviour off alot of people just piss me off.
I know it gets old but, ToA Ruined DAoC.

in Darkness Falls, to see Ukobat come up to X roads Midgard side and hack'n'slash greycons to death and chasing them up towards the entrance in mach100 speed = priceless

truly the moment I miss most of DAoC

I agree, DAoC was the best game at one point.

its been some great times indeed!

remember the days when Gna was the place to be, getting owned by njessi whenever you had business to do in Galplen! Exping at undead camp, or around yggdra in general was great! god i miss the old days! this game was once the greatest thing in the world! now its just depressing... ohh the agony!!11 also remember my first time in muspelheim, that place was soooo scary Roaming the beaches around east svealand hunting crabs and getting owned by those darn drakelings! exping with shadowwarrior and dieing 10times in a row... Exping late nights in spindelhalla 30-40, hehe i wouldnt last a day there now, so sloow exp (moderna f**ked me up) Theres so many great memories! got loads of em, and it makes me wanna turn back time... i wanna experience the same fun again!

edit: playing title.mp3 from daoc folders brings up some great memorys! (havent had game music on in years)

ah... njessi... i remember i was death scared of that drake ;-D when you always ran to the crafters in Gna to get safe. It felt sooo good when i got back at him with my 25 shaman.

Nisses lair anyone? when they expanded it and changed the skin on the tomtes, oooow they were so cute ;D!

i'd give anything to get my daoc memory erased and put up a classic server where everyone had their daoc memories erased

Heh nisses lair, can't beat being in there.
I remember there always being a lvl8 group that would try and take the haunt, then they would run away only to get a huge agro train.
I also loved Ft.Atla, it was a like a safe haven from level 5 [when i dared to leave Vasudheim] to level20.
I used to like the latenight groups on the beach off nahilten.

Those were the days remembering exping in in yggdra seeing a VERY purple luri NS and i say: ssshh lets sneak around it.. (the troll as i am!) but ofc! the dorf in the group had to attack it! it came back from afk and killed us rather easy

The old days were definately the best.

I rember casting my self AF buff on my wizzie, only to have the animation end after about 4 secs (I didn't realise what the effect icon meant), and so I would try recasting it again and again in melee, to try and block myself from the damage of the mob I was fighting!

Remembering the first time i visit Odins Gate with my level 15 Paladin in crap gear (someone told me at lvl15 you can start RvRing)
I was so supprised and amazed by the landscape, the snow and the ice, i moved to the amg and suddenly a big monster with an even bigger hammer appeared and started to bash me, i died in two hits or so and then realized it was not a monster who killed me but a player (Troll), It was my first RvR experience and one of the good memoiries from the past.

this is one of my most special moments in daoc though. stressing around to hit my first 50 before new years eve. (check the clock in the corner) got delayed for my newyears party for 20 mins or so because of this..

I remember leveling up my toon in december 2003/january 2004, I went to all
the places like Gna Faste and Nisse's Lair and whatnot. This is what the game
has been about for me, the old vikingish feeling, the primitive feeling. Then
ToA came out and pretty much made me blind. Artis is/was a joke, MLs were
just the same. Pre-toa days.... those were the days. I am glad I quit the game, at least I
have my memories.

I really enjoyed a lot of the "whoa! factor" of daoc, and although I'm loathe to admit it these days, I had that same feeling the other day when I saw the new Blendrake Faste for the first time. NF is really extremely pretty. Shame about today(i.e. nowadays)'s gameplay .

Back then i wasn't fighting warriors/thanes/whatever, i was fighting "Troll", "dwarf" and the occational luri (Rewminster)

Was uber when getting attacked my enemies exping at the undead camp and actually killing some of them. That had some "ooh"-factor seeing enemies the 1st time. Best fun in this game was old guild gang killing lvl 50 players with our lvl 35 ~fg in mid frontier. Oh those were the times.
