Tribes2 good for the night after?

After drinking stupid amounts of drink last night I'm now awake with less than 5 hours sleep, gut feels bad, and I swear there is a guy in my head hammering away trying to get out :/

I tried to focus so had a quick go at tribes2. Sat back as a sniper overlooking my teams flag and sniped away. After 10mins I felt ok and now I'm semi-alive again

About friday 13th big t2 day. It's good friday. Are all the shops going to be open? I'll bet on the 12th you'll find a few shops stocking it like whsmiths

I have Thursday and friday off . Come to think of it i have everyday this week and next week off I will go down both days.

I love the way their is a role for everyone. I remember i got back after a heavy session and fired up Tribes for a laugh, there was no way i was going to make a f00l of myself by playing capper so i got a repair pack and helped keeping the base "online". It helped the team loads. It just shows that any llama can be good at this game also you get points for repairing in t2 don't you?.

yep repairing your gens gives you 1 point.

There seems to be more points given out for doing stuff. Not sure what else you get points for atm though :/

Destroying Enemy Gens = 2 points
Capping = 3 points
Killing a flag carrier = 1 point
Returning the flag = 1 point
Defending your gens (killing an enemy by them ) = 1 point
Defending your flag (killing an enemy by it) = 1 point

Those are the main ones, but i think theres 1 or 2 others.

Which weapons r actually any good is what i wanna know. tried it for 5 mins last night and couldn't hit a barn door never mind do serious damage :/

All the weapons are good at certain things. With the morter you can deal some massif damage but try useing that thing in a close quarters battle with a light and you don't have a chance. The grenade launcher is very powerful and has a high rate of fire but is hard to aim. The Disk launcher deals quite a lot of damage and has a bit of splash damage, but is hard to kill people over long distances because the projectile moves slowly, so it is best used for dueling/close quarters. You don't get weapons like in UT/Q3 etc where 1 weapon 0wnes all, and you keep useing it untill it runs out of ammo, then you move onto the next best weapon, this is why it is good to spend some time thinking up good combenations of weapons and packs for each role you play.

So a capper might have Energy pack (although i used to use a sensor jammer a lot so i didn't need to worry about turrets), light armour, disk launcher, grenade launcher, and a plasma gun or blaster.

Disclauncher is definately my fav weapon, especially when you hit someone far off whos nabbed your flag.

Maybe I'm relying on Splash too much like QW RL.

Splash damage from the disc launcher has been massively reduced, it does lots of damage with direct hits but little else any more (same with the grenade launcher).

The plasma is excellent for base destroying (7/8 plasma shots take out a big sensor?), but its too slow for much else.

The chaingun is very effective if youre an lpb, but because the sniper rifle has been upgraded and made much easier to use lots of people are using that instead.

The bomber is the best weapon in the game though

Disklauncher is the traditional weapon for dueling, but i pack a grenade launcher just in case

Disc+chain+sniper rifle is the most alround light config, though being a modemer myself id drop the sniper rifle for a grenade launcher

I don't use sniper because you have to have the E-pack (although i use it mostly) i occasionally trade it to fit the situation.
