Well I've decided to play an online game again, so tribes 2 seems like a good choice, but im a bit confused about all the graphics options and what settings are best for my system. Can anyone point me in the right direction to a web site that explains it all?

If anyone wants to offer direct advice, my system is:

P3 850 OC'ed to 950 Mhz

128 MB

Geforce 2 GTS

and the other usual bits and pieces...

Thanks in advance! (and if you see me on servers wandering about trying to repair the flag, plz dont snigger :)

Well, under the Graphics tab it has thinkgs to do with structure meshes. Things like terrain detail, the higher the slider, the more complicated the terrain meshes are. I have it at bottom (my celeron 400 aint too good) and i get morphing in the landscape when i get close to terrain (it moves about, looks wierd but doesnt affect gameplay).

The textures options deal with... err... textures. With your Geforce 2 GTS you should get away with haveing them quite high, try 50-80% of the slider.

General rule of thumb is if you are underpowerd on the proocessor then ower your Graphics settings, if you are underpowerd on the Graphics card (which you arn't) then lower the texture details.

One other thing is you might want to look at getting another 128 mb of ram. It would do wonders for your system and it is so incredibly cheap atm.

Hope it helps:cool:
