Hi,
I was considering to get Home Highway to get a decent ping for my TRIBES games....
ASDL won't be around my area before 6 months if not more...
Is people using Home Highway happy with it?
Any problem?.....I was considering an asus ISDN card instead the BT one....
Thanks for any help you may give!

What pings do you get with single 64k digital line?
what ping do you get with 128K connetcion?
Thanks

I looked at NILDRAM and it scores high on stats...cool!
I'll see how it goes with my current ISP Net Direct and then see if a change is needed

For your info - I use Highway with one 64k in games. Could never get the 2 lines to work as every time I connect the game seems to cancel one line.

Pings, well on Wireplay Direct I get between 80-100 and on NetDirect(paid for isp) I get a better ping sometimes down to 60. I use the BT Speedway ISDN internal card as it does the job.

Overall I am more than happy with the vast improvement since changing to ISDN. No lag and no problems. Improved gameplay.

One last thing. If you get ISDN then DO NOT USE BT FREE. Otherwise you will feel like you are back with a 56k modem on analogue which is running at half speed. That is even if you get BT to change you to ISDN usage.

Hope the info is useful. Been using Highway since August.

Hi!

The reason why the second line is disconnected is due to the fact that Tribes uses around 35kbit/sec (on average) and it isn't needed. On a modem you have some 'latency' in the modem since it have to pack your 1's and 0's into a analog signal (it's still only 9600 baud; just more tricks to make it possible to pack the signal) but the ISDN modem doesn't have to do this since it's digital and all it has to do is to adjust the signal to the media. That's one reason why you have better ping on ISDN.
And I must say that a good gfxcard and a brute CPU will probably make your game smoother than lowering your ping with, let's say, 50. At least I had that experience when I hotted my computer.

With 64k ISDN (Homehighway), and asus internal isa card, ive had pings down to 20 on tribes servers, and regularly get 30-40 on bw, or some of the other good servers. ISDN rocks, and so do asus cards :p
