It's all that rubbing up against paving that does that.
For everyday jeans I wear 501s, I'm old and like buttons and they are comfy.

Bods have you ever tried the "custom" service Levi offer?

Can't say I have. What does it involve?

TDc, the Twisted Seam Levi's I have on now have been going for 18 months now, and are pretty much in the same condition as when I bought them. It took me 4 years to wear through my old 501's.

Go to www.levi.com USA site.
search on custom, et voila.

Basically you can design your own jeans, I've never looked into UK availability but I'm sure they would ship.

I'll give them a try then. Hmm, I was leaning towards a pair of Diesels though. and a new pair of baggies :)

I wear what I like the look of. The most I've ever spent on a single piece of clothing was £60 on a coat. The only reason I'm wearing skate shoes now is because I know a guy who works at the shop and so I got them at trade :) .

Oh, and I like levi's too. I bought a pair of factory reject twisted seams for about £30 roughly 2 years ago. They're still in great condition.

the levi store at oxford circus (regent street) offers custom jeans and any customisation you want doing and then pick them up 2 or 3 days later.

i'm not adverse to spending what some may think as silly amounts on clothes but then i'll also buy cheaper stuff as well if it looks good, my favourite brand at the moment is paul smiths red ear range.

I have noticed one thing. The poorer you are the richer you tend to dress. I'm, well, let's say comfortable, but I never try to look like I have money by wearing the clothes I wear.

Now, I'm a trendy young chap with a decent salary. I could probably afford far more designer clothes than I buy but I don't see the point. I buy what looks good on me - if that's a non-labelled black shirt fine, if it's an expensive label then also fine (occasionally of course I'm not that well off).

But the townie kids of today have to not only drip every square inch of their bodies with Argos gold, but also to dress (almost exclusively in tracksuits) in hugely expensive (but ironically horrifically common and unfashionable) brands like Kappa, Ellesse and Nike.

I mean, Nike trainers are expensive and everyone has them (at school you need to, to avoid getting beaten up for daring not to be a sheep) but there's probably nothing less fashionable in the world. Common as muck.

Hell, the weird thing is, if you've got a shirt with a logo on it no-one's ever heard of, it's just as likely for other people to assume it's cutting edge fashion as they are to assume it's Mr Buyrite, depending on how you carry yourself in it.

I shop for clothes every 2 years and I hate every minute of it. Usually wear mouldy T-shirts and a pair of shorts all year round.

I consider myself smart when I have less than 2 stains on the T-shirt. :/

I shop at Next and Debenhams mostly, and generally tend to wear plainish jeans or trousers, and light jumpers.

For instance, right now i'm wearing some normal denim jeans, and a grey jumper that's fairly warm that i got from Next last week in a sale(handy - it was my dad's birthday, so not only did i pick up two winterish jumpers and a belt for myself, but i got him a jumper - Not bad all for £40ish \o/).

On the shoe subject i have only ever owned 1 pair of skate shoes as such.
<rant>
Tbh i dont see the point between the whole townie, skater fashion problem anyway. I see so many "skaters" walking around with their baggy trousers and expensive shoes, with skateboard under arm - they then proceed to jump into there mums car and go home :(

Townies call skaters goths/losers etc etc skaters call townies simlar etc etc.

This wouldnt normaly bother me but lately i have been getting abuse for wearing a new pair of trainers which ill admit are fucking expensive, but i didnt pay for them not a penny. And when i go out in them i get abuse from these so called "skaters".
</rant>

What people call true fashion is the stuff u see on the fashion channel and at big fashion shows. Who has EVER seen anyone wear similar things to whats there?
