I aint been the gym properly since i started work... altho i go maybe 2/3 days a week if possible i find im too tired to do anything.

I went the gym every so often when i started my job, then my manager went on holiday and i was then doing pretty much 12hr shifts everyday for 2weeks so i couldnt go the gym in that time... When i went in and weighed myself i found that i was 1½st lighter, which suprised me a lot heh.

I dont go out much has to be said either, when im at work or at gym is the only time i do any sort of activity so maybe you should try both of them? :p

Also... thats the exact same Rower as the one at my gym.. altho i dont use it much because, it kills me... plus im too overly conscious when there is other people in the gym too, so i stick to walking on Treadmill etc

just have to keep this thought in your head at all times i guess :p :

"You dont know if someone is staring, unless your staring at them." (er.. something like that anyway)

hehe two people in a gym, both looking at each other thinking "Why is she/he looking at me.. whats their problem."

Not always the case but the best way to look at things(easier said that done).

most gyms leggy will start you off doing cardio first (for a warm up) then have you doing weights but i agree than when you are up to it weights first then cardio.

plus you will find that once you start increasing any muscle your metabolism will increase as an added bonus.

Concept 2 owns me :(

Join a gym, preferably one with MTV. Makes the cv sessions go by a lot quicker when there's a 2 hour Britney marathon.

And/or take up a martial art. It's the best all-round workout, imo. I've degenerated back into slobbery in the past couple of months (new job), but even when I was at the gym 4 times a week, after 10 minutes of sparring I could barely lift my arms or legs.

Yes, sparring is the most intensely knackering thing you can do, I just did a year or so of kick boxing, and I thought I was fairly fit till sparring. we used to do one and a half minute rounds with 30 second breaks, five rounds or something like that, and it was an absolute killer.

Gives you new found respect when you those lightweight boxers going at it for 12 3 minute rounds....

WTF TKD is full contact. You wear body armour, shin pads and head guards. You're not allowed to punch to the head, but kicks to the head are allowed, and in fact encouraged (you get 2 points in competition for one).

And you know that I could crush you with Kuma.

I didn't mean that it was for wusses, I just meant it's for people who are more interested in looking great than actually having any madskillz. It is the Jean-Claude Van Damme of martial arts tbh.

And tbh I rape you with Bryan.

Leggy, i totally agree, you need a varied excersise programme to boost your overall fitness.

I work as a lifeguard at the local lesiure centre and after work I go swimming, then spend 1 hour 1/2 in the gym then I run/bike home. On weekends I go to the gym as a mate and lift heavy free weights (cuz we can spot each other).

What i think is important though is that you have to do something you really enjoy aswel so you can keep goals on them. I dont like football so i am learning rock climbing at the rockface in bham, now when i am lifting free weights I have a goal to think about, it helps a lot.

I've decided to join a gym after reading this and talking to other people who to go the gym. Hurrah for me.
