A brand new mod for Half-Life set in Vietnam. I'm surprised to see a new mod in development for this incredibly dated engine, but that's another discussion.

I'm downloading it now, but has anyone tried it yet? First impressions? Thoughts?

I played tour of duty this morning on the only active server in the world...

Well the player models look a bit crap (although it is an early beta) and it plays a bit wank aswell...

Although there are planty of villagers to mindlessly murder.

I think i'll be playing this as often as I play Ricochet....whats ricochet again?

just tried it, and wasnt too impressed.

models look 'wooden' when moving, and it uses HL's antiquated ammo system (number of bullets instead of clips).

Although it does show promise, this being the first beta and all, and the morale modifer is an interesting addition

Gah! Sorry, mate! I usually look a what people are saying so that I can complain when nobody responds to my 'Axis sniper in tower overlooking bridge' warning. :( Do you play as mank! or something else?

I played ToD once and it was weird. As Daf says the models are odd but that can be excused for a first beta. The map I played had blue fog, for some reason. It shows promise, but it has a long way to go. I imagine I'll dip into it again in a years time. ;)

Played TOD last night and what can i say i love it, its still only beta 1 and so dosn't look great and has bugs and stuff, but it has lots of potential.

Its so much better than dod ever was at beta 1 and looked what happened to dod.

I can see good things happening with this mod, if only the dated hl engine stays popular enough for the mod to develop.

only time will tell, but its a good beta 1, and remember its only beta 1 !!! so don't expect greatness at this stage

theres 2 jolt servers, and also my clan UK-R have a server for it, and theres only about another 3 uk servers for it at the mo. but hopefully more soon, i know BY are trying to get some.....

dunno ips though, just use ASE for the list, it already supports TOD. and the site www.tourofdutymod.com has a list of server ips i think

Agreed. Use All-Seeing Eye and you won't need to care about server IPs ever agin. :)

the fourth would be to download it, install it, burn it onto a CD, delete it from your HD and then bin the CD :D
