Ok so barrysworld put FF on some of there servers...Fair enough i find a server with FF teaches you to be more cautious with Grens and spy checks... well Was i wrong. I join BW5 Map was crossover2 and i notice someone has -80 Points, then i notce TK'ing HWGs everywhere WTF is going on???
Map changed to well same thing over and over, Absloutly

And Limit each server to 2 HWGuys to a team, and set the auto kick.

yes its a shame some people have to spoil it for everyone, We may decide to turn it off or go with Andy's suggestion of turning FF on when an admin is present.

Please dont post WON ids on forums, send them directly to me or any of the TFC admins, we can then see who is repeatingly being a twat and ban them.

as far as I know the limit of HWguys should be 2 for each side on servers 5-7

How about having the auto-tk ban on, but set fairly high, maybe 10 teamkills allowed per map?
That should be enough for most accidental teamkillers, but would still get rid of the hwguys sitting in respawn killing everyone.

Then when an admin is on the server, they could turn off the autoban and reinstate before they leave.

Yeah fair enough i should e-mail the ID's to you, but barrysworld is (Supposed) to be a serious gamers outfit. So its your duty to keep your reputation clean by keeping your servers LLAMA free, not mine!!!

That's a ridiculous attitude Twisted. That's like saying it's the responsibility of the government to ensure there is no crime on the streets, so if I see someone getting stabbed I'm not going to bother to report it.

Barrysworld is a community-based operation. Necessarily, it relies on the cooperation of the community to keep everyone happy (and when it doesn't get it, you end up with just the sort of situation you describe). If you're not prepared to contribute to that community then why should you reap the benefits?

Ok whatever blah blah blah i have reported it, to this forum so its up to BW to take it further, they know my e-mail, why have i not been contacted asking for the several screenshots i took

Fair enough if i did report it officialy we get 4 or 5 peoples ID's banned, then they go out and buy a new copy of Half life or just download a crack and do the same thing again! Then what??? Barrysworld rely on the public to constantly report the same people when they should be monitoring the servers themselfs.

Then Stu you arrogantly come out with some Crap about Reporting knifings to the police?!?!? Yeah well the police dont sit on there asses all day waiting for people to phone in, some do but thats the division they work in, others go out there and search for crime or just prevent it before it happens.

This is what BW should be doing preventing this stuff before it happens, not relying on the people who "Reap The Benifits".

Anyway Maybe i just dont want to "Reap The Benifits" anymore, there are plenty of other servers out there (llama Free)

Well I'm sure you've developed a fully functioning AI driven server monitoring system that detects and tracks 'trouble' players and punishes them for antisocial behaviour. Maybe you'd like to email it to Barrysworld? Either that or your new formula for cloning server admins so that they can be everywhere at once.

It's called an analogy, and a very astute one as I will now demonstrate. The Police have publically announced several times over the past few years the need to move to a more 'passive reactive' crime enforcement system. It is simply not possible any more for the Police to go out 'looking' for Crime, and to 'prevent it before it happens'. Mainly because in most cases, they don't know it's going to happen until it does. Therefore resources are concentrated more on responding to crime rapidly, investing in detection and forensic technologies, and working closer with the judiciary to ensure that they catch more people, and that those people are properly dealt with. Also, the Police have publically encouraged the setting up of properly monitored volunteer organisations such as Neighbourhood Watch, to bring ownership of crime prevention back to the public.

As your knowledge of the criminal system seems to be based entirely on watching The Bill I suggest you go read some criminal justice books. I did for three years during my degree.

Go play on them then. In my opinion Barrysworld consistently does the most out of the "major" GSPs/server providers to monitor its servers, keep up to date on bugs/patches/exploits, punish 'difficult' players wherever possible, etc. If you know of elsewhere that does it better, I'll be happy to close the door after you.

As far as i'm concerned BW supplies the best servers, the best dialup and the best hosting service. All in all they do a very good job, but surely its the communities responsibility too to try and tackle the problems you underlined. My guess is that it would be impossible to monitor the server 24/7 and a complete waste of resources

As for BW not following up the claims, I'm going to present a point here for you, judging from your posts you may not have actually considered it before now, but here it comes.

The world does not revolve around you

Shock horror, I know it may come as a surprise, but it could just be, that BW admins are BUSY running a gaming service for YOU that they DON'T charge for (and in the majority ARE NOT paid for) (I've capitalised the important bits, read over the whole lot again until you understand it again).

The world is full of selfish people, unfortunatly, on the internet, you can't spot the kiddies and get away from them as you would in real life. This means you will always get your fair share of llamas complaining, if things are not done their way, the 1st time, exactly as they demand.

These people will more than likely throw a tantrum when they don't get what they want first time around, and will no doubt cling to a fundamentally flawed viewpoint with no possibility of apologising for past stupidity and/or foolishness.

The final 'threat', is always to threaten to go away and never play again, obviously, in their own world this is the most punishing of threats, as it is inconcievable for them that a community could exist without them.

We can only hope, that in each new generation, the number of these self centred brats decreases. I urge you, if you know such a person, do not mate with them, do the gene pool a favour.

oh yeah sorry....Fair enough i have got out of hand with this whole thing, its pathetic how people go out there deliberatly to do one thibng which is to spoil the games of others...and look where its lead up to!

Anyway lets forget about it all the servers have been changed right? Which is a shame FF is ok. But in future we can rule out any lame incidents like this one.

Even if the servers do go back to FF just set the Auto-Kick to 10 and 2 HWGs per team, then all our problems are sorted.
I dunno why we had this argument in the first place.
