Loved it Yoni. It does not disappoint Raven. But it did terrify me, especially last night. I needed an hours dose of comedy before I was able to go to bed.

I thought it was brilliant, stands on its own two feet with out having to be as over the top as the first series, really good writing and performances from them all. Although I did get a bit bored with John Barrowmans constant gasping for breath every time he came back to life.

Utterly fantastic, I loved it. The plot was awesome, the actors were great, so good.
Just sucks that now because they did it all in a week we'll probably have to wait another year before there's any more.

was fantastic, really glad they didnt resort to bringing the doctor in at all so the show stands on its own away from Who

I have to admit that the format of having one episode a night worked very well.
I also thought it was some of the best British made TV for quite some time. The production quality can't match the high budget shows from the US, but the tight storyline and "will he, won't he" moments made for gripping TV.

It was pretty good - shorter format due to lack of production budget I'm told.

Apparently BBC worldwide are very unhappy tho - hard to flog a series of only 5x1 hour episodes.

There was enough material to make a standard series - I wondered if that was the original plan and then it had to be chopped to fit in 5 episodes?

Some bits would have benefitted from more time to let characters develop but it was still probably the best Torchwood series.

Definately worth a watch :)

I thought it was excellent, really enjoyed it. There's been some pretty good TV on BBC lately. I thought that Occupation series was good too :)

I thought it was a bit silly when the

Americans started telling our government what we were going to do with our kids...yeah fucking right...

I wonder if there will be another series though..

2 episodes in:

Admit to lolling at the "we want a pony" bit :)

Not sure a man could have fitted in that small concrete block unless he was sitting on a toilet though.

i thought it was excellent, although it proved once more that RTD can't do endings for toffee, he needs a writing equivilent of a stunt cock.

I really enjoyed episode 1 ... thought episode 2 started getting a bit silly and over the top ... but then 3, 4 and 5 just got better and better. Excellent!

Overall pretty good.

The music I found annoying. They would always start playing the same riff over and over and just gradually make it louder and do it for too long. Then they'd go back to the start. Gah.

As standalone British sci-fi, its better than most of the stuff I've seen around for some time now. Its definately better than most of the stuff in seasons 1 & 2 and I liked that they gave a single story plenty of time to 'breathe' and develop properly. I also liked that the core story was quite chilling. However, I've always felt that when it comes to creating a chilling feeling the makers of Torchwood always seem to manage to spoil it by being a bit too camp or doing things that break the flow. If anything, they needed to make Children of the Earth a little darker and moodier to make it fully work.

Still, good fun and fine TV that, despite a few minor quibbles, stands up well against anything that the rest of the world makes.

No she isn't.

You are (understandably) placing too much import on her being Welsh - you need to ignore that bit about her ;)

Well it went from a sensible discussion to "will I, won't I" bone the female lead in less than 2 pages.

Her name is Eve Myles btw.

It's a little over the top sometime for my liking, but over all enjoyable to watch.

Nope I do not get the fascination with Torchwood, it's shockingly bad. It actually makes me want to vomit if I have to watch it.

Just finished watching it last night. I thought it was only ok. Like Yar, I thought the ending was pants. I also got a bit bored with Jack gasping his way through every death. I thought Eve did pretty well, and I like the premise of the story, but when we eventually found out why the 456 wanted what they wanted I shat myself laughing, which I guess wasn't the response I was suposed to have. I certainly wasn't even near crying!

I thought it was only ok. Not brilliant, but fairly entertaining. Like Yar, thought the ending was a real cop out. And when we eventually foung out why the 456 wanted what they wanted, I nearly shat myself laughing at the idea of it.

Did anyone else think the 456 looked like the skutters from Red Dwarf?
