Blimey. Though he's pretty right, the last series was a little bit 'family based' and not really care based.

Hope they come back, but focus around cars again. Not much else to say tbh.

If someone claims they only want road tests and comparisons of cars, they don't really 'get' Top Gear. It should be a car show, first and foremost, but it's always been imaginitive and innovative, finding interesting ways of comparing and reviewing cars, and often with a few epic features (the races in particular). A lot of people saw the 9th series as pandering to the figures but I suggest it was more down to Richard's recovery and because of that, road tests were removed from the series because a wider audience would have been likely to enjoy the How Hard Can It Be, cocking-about features (which many viewers feel are becoming far too scripted - bring back the days of "let's see what happens and film it"). That's fair enough. But now the I-Was-Watching-Before-It-Was-Cool faithful, of which I am a proud member, want to be reassured that the 10th series will be a return to form.

/agree.

English, Top Gear is a car show. It should stay like that.

Personally i like the balance how it was in S9. Theres a bit about cars but theres more emphasis on pissing around like a complete twat.

Much better viewing for those who aren't massively interested in cars :p

No doubt S9 was good (I started watching at about S6 or so) but it wasn't... Top Gear. I mean, I LOVED the rocket episode (Better than the US one, imo) but there wasn't enough cars in it =< I like the show for cars. Sure, the cocking around is funny too, but S10 (IF it comes) should have a little more focus on the cars.

Also, I noticed my typos =( "Care" instead of "Cars" :p

I don't care about cars, but I watched every episode of the last series because it was great entertainment with hilarious presenters.

As for family based, I think not as it offended nearly all groups and frequently featured in the news about complaints. Comedy is always a risk :)

They did that they gave afordable cars to there Mums. The truth is who wants to watch a tv show about cars they could buy you would read a real review for that. I want to see how much fun Super and Hyper cars are so i can plan losing my lottery fortune when i get it!

I dont watch top gear for the cars. I'm not a petrol head, and it dosn't bother me that this tweaked audi is almost as good as a farrari but harder to steer etc. I watch top gear for enterainment, the rocket episode has been the best one I've seen, with america and the caravan one close behind.
I dont mind the odd interlude where they show off a car, as happened in the rocket episode, but I firmly watch for the funny, and interesting exciting bits.

top gear has become jeremy clarkson's wet dream. it started on the slipperly slope to wetness when tiff and vicky butler henderson etc.. left and has been increasing its velocity ever since, no doubt due to the gravitational pull of clarkson's oversized ego.

I think its amusing that for a car review show the only car i have ever seen in the last 3 or 4 series' that i'm ever likely to be able to afford is the one that 'celebrities', and in some cases i use the word loosely, hammer around an airfield. And while the over-priced, over-powered, cock-extending fanny-magnets that are the cars they review are very nice it would be nice to see something that i may one dip into my pocket for without having to win the national lottery.

All that said, i thoroughly enjoy top gear as a purile comedy show and watch a lot of the re-runs on uktvwhatever when i see them on, and i try to remember to watch the new series' when they're on as well.

When i want to see a car review i turn over to channel 5 and watch good old tiff prattle on in fith gear.

i dont want them to review "reasonably priced cars" stick with the amazing cars, i mean i'd much rather see them review the new 5 series over a fiat punto or petrol guzzling bentley rather than the economical vauxhall corsa

Yeah it would of been much better if instead of racing across Europe in a Veyron they did a show about drinving a 1.8tdci Focus through Bermingham!

And tbh if you would buy a car because of a tv review you need your head testing Top Gear is about doing things you would love to do in cars you would love to own. And Top Gear destoys 5th gear as a TV show.

I dont understand why people are complaining about Top Gear because they dont review every day cars people can afford? Since the birth of the internet there are about 435426234 car review sites which give accurate feedback on normal cars.

how ever Top Gear shows the cars which people could only normaly dream about with the comedy chucked in for free, which is why i like it ssooooooooo much.

There are only 2 things i watch on TV

1) Champs league football
2) top gear

.... and thats it

If you want to know what the new Corsa is like then go to the Vauxhall website and book yourself a test drive.
If you want to make yourself look a right pratt go to the Bugatti website and try and book yourself a test drive in a Veyron.

The ONLY way I will ever know what those types of car are like is if I see it on Top Gear.
