Being lazy I only just got round to upgrading my Sky Analogue to Sky Digital (bye bye German smut channels :).) Whilst on their webby I noticed an option called TVLink which basically beams your signal upstairs so you can use it on your bedroom telly (or whatever.) Not only do you get the signally thing but you get an extra remote (proper not universal shite) too and they install it (well, at least you can ask him about the product rather than reading the manual if you don't like ppl touching your TVs like me :D) and it was just 40 quid extra. Those things normally cost at least that much to buy. Fair enough, I thought, I'm getting it cheap cos I'm getting Sky Dig installed. They want me as a customer. However, my mate who wasn't before aware they did this rang up and managed to get it for the same price despite the fact he's had Sky Dig for ages.

Not a bad little price that, especially for the technophobes who would never know how to set one up themselves.

If you never got round to setting yours up for lazy-watching-in-bed-type antics then just ring 08705 488485 and tell em you want TVLink installed for 40 quid. They must be desperate to get us all off analogue :)

I have to agree it's a great little device.

I fitted mine myself (ordered through the interactive tv channels), as I didn't know about any offers.

Can you watch different channels on the TV's or both TV's will show the same channel?

Same channel. I'm the only person in my house (apart from the GF on weekends) so it's not a problem.

Yeah, thats the only bit that sucks... You can obviously get another box for the house, it will only cost you an extra Million squid or something - so not that bad :)

Wouldn't you still need another decoder card too somehow ?

Yeah, to have 2 channels in the house at any one time would mean having 2 boxes - the first one is subsidised by Sky and so you get it for free, the 2nd you have to buy - it costs like £400 or sommat. A little too pricy for me...

I've got 3 cable boxes so I can watch different stuff on different tellys, all for the price of 1 cable box. If Sky digital allowed you to watch different stuff on different tellys, it would 0wn.

yeah, but cable is different - there's no real decoding going on there. The Sky boxes do a fair amount more (although I'm going from memory) and so are a hell of a lot more expensive...
