At least they didn't make Judge Dredd 2
The only things that were really wrong with the movie were Fergie, who was a very annoying 'comic' side-kick that Dredd just didn't need - they would have been much better relying on Hershey and Fargo as Dredd's companions, and that the script they chose was just not particularly interesting...one based on the Apocalypse War or Judge Death would have been more fun to watch, I reckon.

There's a lot about the Dredd movie that I actually thought was pretty good; I didn't mind Stallone as Dredd, and I thought they nailed the look and feel of Mega-City as far as you could have the comic look and keep it practical and believable.

If you read the 'Making Of...' book, it took them ages to get - for example - the Lawmaster bike right; they really wanted to have the huge wide tyres from the comic, but it just wouldn't work for a real, ride-able bike. And Mean Machine was just excellent, a really great piece of make-up/prosthetics work...so was the Hammerstein ABC robot (which was a real free-standing working robot they built on-set)...

5) Silent Running

OMG, how sad is that film? No matter how many times I watch it, even though I know what's going to happen, the bit at the end with the watering can just makes me weep buckets.

My favourite sc-fi film is probably The Fifth Element. Milla Jovovitch! Gary Oldman! Bruce Willis with shoes!

Ditto :)

I would add Bladerunner as one of the best sci-fi films ever, Stargate and Logan's Run and that would make up my top five.

1) Silent Running - don't mind admitting i still fill up at the end of it....
2) 5th Element - absolute class film.
3) Event Horizon - pretty scary - good film....
4) Johnny Mnemonic - could have been brilliant, but the f*ckin dolphin bit ruined it for me.....
5) Equilibrium - f*ckin brilliant

1) Aliens (Directors cut)
2) Babylon 5
3) Existenz (anyone who knows the SLA rpg knows why i love this dodgy piece of crap)
4) Blade Runner
5) Equilibrium - purely for the totally bollocks but supremely cool Gun-Kata

It was sooooo bad :(

New Rose Hotel is better

Supposedly Chris Cunningham is to direct Neuromancer
But the info has kinda dried up, so maybe it wont see the light of day :(
