Finding alternative energy sources, or as dys said simply using all the oil up would at least make the world lose interest in the Middle East, and let them get on with blowing each other up.

Actually, you should be persecuting people who fly rather than car drivers - a short haul flight one way produces as much CO2 as three months small car driving and isnt even taxed - plus Toms super green and dilutes his fuel with Sunflower oil...

co2 is not a pollutant.

And I use vegetable oil, its cheaper than sunflower oil.

Taxation does not reduce emissions. It does however give governments money to keep otherwise useless people in employment.
