I have just fixed a problem that was preventing me from playing CS, I'll cut 2 the chase, it turned out that my auth .dat files had been modified whilst playing on BW with Ch3t and Carl1ng (prolly incidental but thought I would mention it) so some fooker has taken it upon themselves to modify my files, any of u had a prob like this b4??

No but i think i made mine read only. Can't realy remember, online games are a fading memory at the minute. But seriously, if halflife borks up in any way, just clean it out, and install it fresh. Nine times out of ten it sorts it.
Btw i doubt very much anyone has played around with your auth files.

Sound advice ty however if u check the properties on the .dat files they tell you when they were modified last the time specified I was mid game and was experiencing large anomolies in netgraph 1 this was a bit out of the ordinary 2 me it seemed.

Paranoid yeah mebe I have been running netgraph 1 4 ages and with a 56K modem over a long period of time yes u get to see some lovely orange and blue displays, but I havent brought any of those 2 the attention of this forum, I'm telling u this was very odd so odd that I commented on netgraphs display then left the server and came straight here when I fixed it. It was odd

Okay during that time BW fucked to hell, level 3 problems? ddos? who knows.

Anyway, err admins have rcon we can mes kick and bann. Rcon gives you no way what so ever of connecting your pc and changing files.

Neither does conencting to the game server for that matter.

If your .dat files have changed (and bearing in mind i have no idea what the fuck they are), I would suggest they are meant to change or you have installed soemthing whihc changed them.
