Tonight at Beno...

Hah! I hate you Albs!
Not because you are my enemies - no. But why did we have to wait like 1 hour till someone show up at Beno?
This was a guild event of Klan Nidstang and hired guns from Purple Warriors and Talons Reach (If I missed out another guild please don't blame me. I was quite buisy.). It were mostly mid 30s, a few 40+. and 4-5 50s. We were spotted by an SotL member when we were approaching the keep so we expected some action soon. We built our trebuchets, upgraded the doors and started drinking beer. Unfortunatly not a single Alb came and we ran outa beer. We were just thinking about going to take Era too when Hibs did it. So we thought maybe Hibs will come and give us a fight. By that time our trebuchets were beyond repair (I learned today that u can't repair them infinitly) and we had no real defense anymore.
Was quite surprising when after another 20 mins of waiting both Albs and Hibs showed up to battle infront of Beno with our lvl 10 guards ontop of them (BAH! If we had know we had left them at lvl 1!). We killed a few remaining Hibs and Albs thou.
When the Alb zerg came another 30 mins later it was all over very fast. I guess you expected a bit more resistance, eh? You couldn't know that we were not all 50s so I don't blame you for come with this zerg.

Now my question: Are any smaller Albion guilds interested to join such kind of events? Well we expected to get zerged but I wonder if a real siege by lets say 2 smaller Albion guilds against 2 smaller Mid guilds could be more fun than the usal high lvl ganking in Emain?

<shrug> We took Bledmeer the other day and put up a defense as well, and had to wait for more than an hour until people came to retake it.

Always very hit and miss with these keep take/defence things. Sometimes defenders will arrive as you are taking the keep ... other times you take one, wait around, take another, wait around .... ages goes past and no one shows up.

Set piece battles and keep take/defence between one or two guilds on each realm sound interesting in theory -- but in practice you can hardly turn away realm mates from bashing the enemy.

By the way, I hear the Albion force was delayed in attacking Beno because they sidetracked to kill some event mobs while you were stewing in Beno.

We had info that you had about 4 groups there and most were lower levels not lvl 50. A small defence force formed up at Surs but we weren't very woried about you. Then another couple of groups from emain and odins came to help and the force headed to Beno but unfortunately we somehow got distracted by the VERY purple event mob at the Legionnaire house since the guy we were stuck too headed in there to have a look. We killed a couple of orange elite legionnaires then somehow the Purple mob was aggro'd and 8 orange adds turned up. This lot wiped out our 20+ force there which only got the purple mob to about 80% health.

I really want to find out why we were led in there and why someone aggro's the deep Purple mob....

Anyway after some ressing we came and kicked your ass rather quickly then took Eras and grabbed everyone to go and get revenge on the purple guy and his 12-15 orange adds.

I'm going to have to own up to this one. Purely by chance, I'd got a skirmish group together to go to Emain when a fellow Templar reported you lot attacking Beno. So we wandered up to Erasleigh (normally your next target) and found a fairly large Hib force attacking it. Wiped out, we went back to Surs, met up with a few others (not really a zerg, but about 4 full groups) and set off for Beno.

While waiting, my group and I got some news about an event which has been going on in Albion for several days now. Basically, we learned from another Templar that a messenger back in Albion had pointed to a feller called Antonious who lived in Hadrian's. Well to be honest, we knew you had a number of lower level folks, and we've all retaken Beno plenty of times before, whereas this was an event. Soooo, putting two and two together, (dead Roman + Hadrian's), we decided to check out the roman villa by the crossroads on the way to you. My group had two top notch minstrels, and I thought we were getting ahead of the force and would catch up with the rest at Beno after we'd looked around. We went poking around in the villa. I was expecting some ghostly messenger or grey con roman, like the characters in the plains where most of this has happened. Anyhow, it turned out to be a seriously purple roman centurion. Then it turned out that there was another group who also had a top notch minstrel, and had followed us in there. I saw someone say "Get the purp" and then all hell broke loose ! It wiped out all 16 of us without us really scratching it. At which point a certain Mr Shati got a little Shirti (you really need to watch that temper old son). Meanwhile the other two groups had gone straight to Beno, where they tangled with the Hibs and the guards.

We got rezzed, regrouped at the crossroads. Jadow ranted and raved a bit, I temporarily put him on my /ignore list until he'd calmed down, and then when the rezz sickness disappeared, we trotted off to take Beno. By the way, your catapult really wasn't doing much damage. Hitting me for about 43hp. Not sure why that was.

Sorry to keep you waiting, anyway, but I hope you understand that we were a little sidetracked. The good news is that, having found that was really the right place, and having discovered first hand just how tough the bugger was, we were able to get together a rather bigger group after retaking Eras, and go kill it. Hopefully, that helped solve this mystery which has held the realm in thrall for a while now. I had to log afterwards, but I'm looking forward to reading what happened later on. All's well that end's well.

I was actually leading (in a map sense) the group of albs that attacked 1st.

It was a bit of a mess really .. we was coming to retake/attack and i was running towards the slope out side and saw people waiting at the top. I selected one and it casme up Purificator..so i assumed they was albs. I then lead the group straight up the hill into a large group of Hibs . DOH. Was an honest mistake.

Hence we was totally unprepared for a fight.

Then the dreaded 1 frame per 5 seconds set in. I got a fair few RPs (thanks to all in my grp). I believe most of the hibs were dead. we would have managed a full rezz i think but the uber red/orange con guards set on us, later joined by mids and we was slaughtered.

Most in my guild decided another attempt wasnt worth it, but we saw later we was wrong.

Was good fun. I apologise to all who was /stick on me for running you unannounced into the hibbies :(

I was in a group stuck to aethelstan, just as well I wasn't in the chat group due to relogging cause I felt the need to vent after we got wiped. I had been up there earlier and seen Mr. Antonious and his rather large number of red adds and was just /s wtf we doing here? when we all got aggroed and died. Spent so much time getting rezzed etc that by the time we took beno it was too late for me to continue on to erasleigh :/

Wouldn't have minded but no-one told me of our impromptu pit stop.

Aethelstan, I got a little shirty because a keep retake force got deliberately sidetracked and virtually wiped out to fulfill some personal mission you decided to try without telling us.

Excuse me if I'm out of line here, but getting 20ish people together to retake beno, then going -anywhere near- a purple epic level mob (i'd say he was about as tough as afanc usually is) without telling anyone is out of order.
