Just ordered tomtom navigator 2 for my ipaq 3630, I should get it tomorrow. Can't wait! It's funny how the ipaq's have different sockets on the bottom, obviously an oversight by Compaq when they made the first ones.

Get POIWarner m8. Audible "Safety" camera warnings using overlays, 20 euros, bargain :)
Not that you would exceed the speed limit of course, but you will know when you are in a hazardous area, keep safe!! ;)

So far I've never been caught by a speed camera, I always drive at 32-33mph in 30mph zones, and as soon as I see those signs, I slow down to no more than 10% over the limit (on dual carriageway etc). I would be more interested in software that alerted me to roadworks and closures, that would be extremely useful.

Ditto, but is does give you a sense of security. I believe theres a subscriber service to mobiles that warns of delays, but you need to call before you leave to tell them where you are going. I tend to use the 2020 AA Roadwatch service if I think there may be delays, along with the traffic programming on the radio. TTN will allow you to "renavigate" avoiding certain roads if you know there are delays.

I've been using it today, going to places I know the way to, but I have to say its been pretty good. My only gripe so far is that I don't yet know if you can enter a street name before a city name.

Anyone know?

Afaik you have to go town/street/number, which is a pain.
Everyone is shouting at them for a full postcode search, which would be really nice, similar to Multimap for example. It "should" be fairly easy for them to implement.
Incidently they have just released version 2.05, you might want to grab it from the TT webby, 2.5mb.

Speaking of speed cameras, I notice that the GPS tells me I'm doing a constant 4mph less than my speedometer says! I always thought this was the case (one of those 'back of the mind rumours'), but its nice to know that when I'm doing 32 im actually not breaking the speed limit!

I believe by law your speedometer is allowed a 10% margin of error either way :)

Kind Regards

Yup, I believe the police factor it in, and add 3/4 mph. So in a thirty zone your speedo could show 37mph and you would be OK, although I'm not willing to test this theory :)

I brought the Navman for my 3870. Worth every penny imo even though it was £300
