[31-03-2006] The Camelot Reporter

Except for the incident that delayed the opening of the servers, you seem to have appreciated the numerous novelties and changes brought with versions 1.81 and 1.82. This week's Reporter mainly deals with these new versions and you will also find that many fixes associated with version 1.83 have already been run in anticipation.

A review on the move onto version 1.82
The passage into version 1.82 was the longest we ever knew and you could access the game again only from mid-Thursday. As we explained, the bug was due to characters that had not been logged into the game for a long time. This could not be spotted on the test servers where there were no characters old enough.
A similar issue was present on the American servers but it only affected the clients of the characters concerned and not the servers. So it required more time to determine the source of the issue than to fix it. However, besides this problem we did not face any other difficulty.
Since the release, the issue that prevented the display of the guilds and alliances members in the social window has been fixed. Thus only the few minor bugs we already mentioned in the previous news remain.
We are updating the information of the Roll of Honour so that they take into account the information lead by the change of version. Therefore, some data might not be updated in the coming days. The RvR situation and the Register remain accurate.
We remind you that it is necessary to update your customised interfaces if you want to be able to enjoy all the new features, especially the one concerning the new icons for /use and /use2 abilities. And if you notice a change or the disappearance of your icons in your quickbars the first time you log a character on, you only have to change zone to have everything back to normal.

As we announced, a subscription extension will be offered to all accounts active on the 29th and 30th of March. This free day will be credited today.

American and European servers are now running in same version, Mythic and GOA will still try to reduce the intervals for the next evolutions of the game.

About Trifecta
This new game seems to have stirred the curiosity of many players. Its name corresponds to old betting games, and the Trifecta croupiers will offer you to bet, for one gold piece, on the cards they will draw from three different decks.
If none of the cards on which you bet are drawn, you lose your bet. If you guessed a card, you will win some prizes, often in-character, like a bunch of flowers or a mug for your favourite drink. With two cards you will gain objects of greater value or most spectacular like pets and with 3 cards you will gain a valuable prize such as rare dyes or respecialisation stones.

On each Realm you can find 4 Trifecta croupiers : in the capital city, the festivals located by the entrances of the capital cities, in Caer Gothwaite, Domnann, Aegirhamn, the Inconnu Crypt, the Shar Labyrinth and the Kobold Undercity.

About non-activated artefacts
Some people seemed surprised by the price the merchants pay for non activated artefacts. They thought it would be a higher price considering the prices on the markets. We remind you that we informed you that the artefacts wouldn't be bought at the same price than on American servers because some European players, aware well in advance counter to the American players could collect these artefacts to speculate. We would like to remind you that the purpose of artefacts is to be used and that their trade is only secondary. This is why we determined reasonable sell prices and that we gave the possibility to trade these artefacts for books that allow to get activated artefacts. The Artefact Scholars Jarron (Albion), Alaria (Midgard) and Elmar (Hibernia) located in the Hall of Heroes will accept to do these trades and when you validate the corresponding encounter, you will then be able to get the activated artefact which then is worth much more that the non-activated artefact you had until then.

Underpopulated realms
The bonuses granted to underpopulated Realms have been updated with the arrival of version 1.82. However, there are few changes compared to those of last month.

Many corrected have been run this week, since we anticipated some of them from version 1.83 which is actually being tested on the US servers.

- (DR) The experience rewards for the Child's Play quest was increased slightly and modified to be more in line with the level of the quest.
- (DR) The experience rewards for A Hero Desires a Sword quest was increased slightly and modified to be more in line with the level of the quest.

The Tip of the Week
The sages of Atlantis
Amongst the novelties that will allow you to gain time on Atlantis either for some artefacts encounters or master levels, you will see that one of the sages located in the Havens now sells at various prices, some objects essential to successfully complete an encounter. If you couldn't get one of these objects or if you don't have time to go and search for them again, you can now visit this sage who will sell them to you. You can see the list of these objects as well as their sell price in the pictures below.
