I just lagged and get LD's nonstop today, i think to quit Daoc and to pass on Dark And Light when is out.

I hate to have to agree. I loged on to daoc today after having played WoW for 6 days and not experienced a single lagspike or ld there. Within 5 min of loging on i suffer a 10 sec spike where i die, then a couple min later again, and again etc. Afaik both wow and daoc servers are located in paris so why oh why does these spikes not manifest in wow? Should be the same backbone internet structure no?

I still like daoc, and while im playing wow now and will play it when its released i hope that when i do return to daoc (catacombs etc) it will be playable, because now it isnt.

I feel sorry for those who still are really into DAoC as these problems hurt them the most since people leave the game because of amount of lag. That will probably be worse than the XP-deaths in the long run.

They say coze how play from france doesnt have problems. Fake !!!
I stay in France (im not french) and i put an 20mbs/512kbs internet conexion specialy to not lagging in online games and i still have lagg and LD's.
Sometimes is well but in the latest times i lagg well.So... my pc its quite a powerfull machine , well configurate , latest drivers etc... and i still lagg and ld's.
The problem is we pay for this and we can expect to be treated as well.

PS: ademaa , we will see that on the future for the moment i will stick on Daoc to see tha Catacombs, if it will be the same bullshit i will quit Daoc forever
It doesnt have any sense to pay for something wich piss me off when i die for nothing.

Btw i think the dont care about what we think and that is the worst.

[17-02-2004] Opentransit maintenance this Wednesday (18/02)
Opentransit informed us that during the night from Wednesday, 18th of February to Thursday, 19th (between midnight and 7am), there will be a network shutdown of around 20 minutes.
This shutdown will of course prevent all connections to our web servers as well as to the game servers. Since this is an Opentransit operation and not something in the hands of our teams, we will be unable to give a proper warning in-game. We advise you not to plan anything important in-game on this night.

Since that night when the servers never went down we have had this constant lag problem in toa and in all over areas of daoc at times.

Now it seems to me that OT did something this time and fecked it all up,cus its NEVER been the same since.

Requiel can u ask OT about what they did that night cus it would seem to me that its been the cause of the probs for all of us.

i have same experience that it started last year and been growing worse ever since was related to some patch less than 1 mb and bee fucked ever since then with perma lag day where i would have 3-5 sec chat delay's and button presses ect unable to do smt with grps couse would most likely couse wipe outs

17:50 GMT give or take 5 mins, and it was not due to OT according to my instruments.

Clan,yea i think its summit OT did that night or didnt do thats been the cause of the lag for 90% of us.It cant be all our comps as the lag spikes are throughout the whole population of game for excali and thats a lot of peeps all over europe.

Shame we never seem to get a straight answer from goa at times about the lag. I personally thought that 1.71 was THE patch to fix/reduce toa lag,not create lag all over game areas i.e, when i have been in spindel and had lag spikes ppl in guild in tottally different areas have has the same lag at the same time.

Loged on at about 11:30 cet today, i tryed to play some of my toon's in diffrent zones in hopes that i could find somwhere there would be no lag, but in vain, the lag is very constant today all over, every 3-4 min you get a 5 - 10 sec lagspike, and it hits all regions it seem's. Daoc is unplayable with those spikes, and for the sake of This great game i hope it is solved imidiately or i fear that not even Catacombs will save Daoc!.

My location is Denmark, been alot of lag spike issues the last 3 month, but today beats them all, its almost as if it comes in patterns today, where it in the past seem to come more at random

Seriously contemplating cancelling both my Euro accounts and moving to US servers if this bullshit continues to be inflicted on us. The game is UNPLAYABLE, how much more fucking clearly do we have to make this point?

Totally agree with you, unless the lag improves considerably over the next week of two I'm cancelling two accounts and voting with my feet.

Had enough of constant lag resulting in rvr defeats, ml failure, xp deaths and arti raid cock-ups, either they fix it or a huge number of people are likely to leave, although I certainly won't be going to WoW!

Unplayable on excal/albion atm, im in the UK on NTL cable and the lag is horrific, GOA you are fast becoming a joke of a company. Were now into the 4th? month of lag infested servers and still you are incapable of fixing it.
