To those folks doing the 50 armsman epic...

... please don't assume that tree groups will just want to wander over and help.....

Now - to put this in perspective, I am quite happy to help with epics usually, so long as I am forewarned and not busy elsewhere. This post really comes as a result of my group getting some rather obnoxious abuse last night when we said we wouldn't help some folks trying it. Why not? Well... the general mode for doing this epic seems to be pull all the mobs, and let group A only hit the named one, while the others do their damndest to take the other 3 or 4 (or more) purple cons....:(

I have died several times over helping people to do this, and I don't expect to be abused on the rare occasions when I don't fancy donating my hard-earned xp (I soloed for 2 hours last night for 0.2 bubbles before getting a group) to allow a level 50 who doesn't care about the xp anymore wear some pretty armour and feel sooper-uber (tm).

Call me a tight git, if you wish, but I think that's just being realistic.

fair point, people dont HAVE to help anyone if they are busy/too far away/not in the mood.

i guess i can understand the frustration of a lvl50 that cant get a few groups together to help them get there epic armour.... but i think thats something that should be orgonised within a guild, and no matter how frustrated there is no excuse for dishing out abuse to someone that is busy or not willing to loose exp through something that isnt going to gain them much.

... indeed - a point of note is that the person in question is actually a member of one of the larger guilds in Albion and as a guild they would have no issues doing the epic...

... and before you ask, I am not naming names or guilds - this is just to make others who plan to do it sit up and think before assuming players will come running to help....

and for the guildless, do as we did (guildless at the time).

ask around. some guild probably doing the quest in near future, tag along there. that way, you help them, and they help you.

problem solved

exactly, people seem to be dinging 50 all the time now, there is almost certainly a lvl50 of the same class waiting to do the epic armour quest with there guild. i think weve had a few over the last week or so, i have a few more comming up

Which is a handy peg to hang this on. Graham and I are going to try for our epic on Thursday night (tomorrow). With bladeturn and healing in the group, that leaves 4 spots for fellow defenders of albion. If you're interested, then feel free to join us at the Yarleys at 8pm and we'll get you in. If we don't get the numbers, we'll go to the frontier.

Galatea was guildless at the time she dinged 50 (by choice), and to be honest, didn't think she had a cat in hells chance of getting the epic done any time soon. So basically just did nothing for a while.

Tried soloing it first though for some reason, no luck there.

Then a message came "Want to help X with her epic?"

Not always one to pass up on a good thing, She agreed if they would help her too with her own epic.

So off they went, about 3 groups (Paladin epic) and duly killed Sister Blythe three times because it didn't give the magic words in the Journal the first two.

Weyhey, Gal got to go do her epic now, so one group broke off and trundled to Morgana's little hovel, shot one of the demons and duly started thwacking it....Then the fun started...

About 25% in, both demons teleported away, "Bit strange, must be running away" she thought, but the demon flew back towards the group then teleported further away, flew back a bit, and teleported away again. This repeated until both demons were out of sight. The group gave chase but each demon just teleported away, further.

Galatea assumed the quest was done, because the demons were gone, not dead, just gone, but alas, no, without the demons being slain, the quest cannot be done, so halfway across Lyonesse they ran and ran, hitting the demons, who then teleported as per usual.

After some time of this, the group gave up, Galatea included, and were about to leave, when the demons returned, this time for good, no teleporting anymore, and were duly battered to death by scouts, paladins and armsman. Very relieved, and after the wicked Sorceress Morgana spouted a prophecy of her return, Galatea stood in the hovel on which she stood, Cleansed the area of evil with the sacrificial knife handed to her, and left...never to return to that spot again, unless others were in need of assistance...The group cheered and split up, meeting again in the frontier in respective groups as is always promised among people of Albion.

Oh, mind if she joins you on you epic Aeth? :)

I'm rather hoping she will join us. You know us armsmen. Thick as pigshit. We need all the help we can get.
