Okay your league organiser got a (mild) flaming for posting in the wrong forum, he admitted to his mistake and moved on. However a lot of you found it necessary to jump on some band wagon or the other and start being lame, the general forum has always been like it is your not going to change it. Pissing poeple off for no reason isn't going to accomplish much more than making you look like big tards. I don't think the opinion that anyone who posts here regularly hold of the hlccl is very high thanks to your posting. If your forum is so great why not do yourselves a favour and post there?

in true diplomatic grandure....
tbh i wouldnt call things like 'fuck off and die' a 'mild' flame. oki fair enuff the hlccl thread was out of place. we'v all posted our thoughts as to why we think it fits in, and uve sworn at us and posted loads of pictures that have been copied many times b4.

thats the arguement.. ok. now im sure all of us just simply thought 'dicks' and were gonna leave it at that.. but... when you start flaming a thread asking you to click on a childrens charity site to give them a little money just by clicking on a button.. thats quite out of order i think.

all ive seen here is a couple of the hl crew baiting u with simple threads and u all took the bait and flamed the hell out of them proving their point that u cannot have a sensible disscussion or a healthy disagreement.. it alwayz has to degenerate into swearing and personal insults.

i dont know why you all feel you need to do this :(

as for us coming in and 'flaming for no reason' apart from the general concenus that 'we'r just fitting in as u all do it' a suitable analogy would be 'if someone punched u or a friend in the street would u run away or stand up and do wot u think is right by defending yourself or ur friend'?

im sure most of u would defend.. and rightly so.. thats all the people that flamed u guys back did. our 'friends', b they online, were flamed by u so we flamed u.

basically if u guys had dealt with the matter in a more cilvilised way ALL this could have been avoided.


feel free to flame me but all you will be doing is proving my point.

p.s. btw? am i considered a newbie by your 'guide'?

theres a difference between flaming for the hell of it (what my above post was aimed at) and flaming in retaliation to already someone whom has already flamed u.

You can't be sanctimonious about this, just as your analogy works one way, so it works back. A lot of the oldbies will consider each other friends, and if not that at least enemies they know. If you want to be a part of the general forum learn to fit in, because like it or not, the regulars in this place make it what it is, and they carry a lot more clout than anyone switching over and posting for a few days until they get bored of stirring stuff. I'm not saying that the flaming of newbies is right, but if all the regs here are as bad as you sugest why are you bothering to post here at all?

In the long run it comes down to this, to be part of the community you have to make an effort, if you don't want to make an effort and follow the ethos around here you can expect flaming and the regs to stand together against the newbies who will flame back. What does that accomplish? Answer nothing, all that happens is that both groups confirm in their minds that the other side is Satan, Bin Laden, Venom or whatever (insert your own evil villain here), and it takes 3/4 weeks of totally pointless spamming and insults before any kind of usual discussion can take place. I don't want that to happen because generally I find many of the posters here to be informed, interesting and amusing, if you disagree I'd suggest instead of trying to make people take a bait and congratulating yourself on your puppeteer ability you just leave, it's a lot simpler for both sides.

The HLCCL is a big competition played on Barrysworld Servers. We activly sought hosting with Barrysworld after the closure of Wireplay.

I was community liaison there for nearly 3 years looking after 4 communities.
I now represent the BWHLCCL the biggest HLCM league in Europe - Just making sure tyhat you dont think I am some kind of 13 year old spotty newbie...

As you mentioned I made a 'mastake', laughable if you call it that.

Trying to appropriate blame in a situation like this is not only pointless, but totally impossible, arguing about it isn't going to change the minds of either side so why bother?

If you truly hate the regulars on here, why are you posting? Why waste your time on a bunch of 'children' by 'baiting' them with pointless threads?

The analogy of someone hittiing your 'm8' is rubish to start with because this is just a forum sitting on a server somewhere, by flinging flames back you are no better than the original flamer, to go back to the real world examples, two wrongs don't make a right.
